E=mc2, Educating Middle-grades Teachers for Challenging Contexts, is a 1-year Transition to Teaching program that prepares mid-career and early retiree STEM professionals for teaching mathematics or science in the middle grades. E=mc2 participants commit to teaching in one of three high-need, partner districts for 3 years.

TEMPLE NOYCE TEACHER SCHOLARS (TNT)

Educating Middle-grades Teachers for Challenging Contexts (E=mc²) is pleased and honored to announce the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program project, Temple Noyce Teacher Scholars (TNT). TNT will support a community of new and aspiring mathematics and science teachers from different generations and levels of knowledge and experience in STEM professions. The project advances existing TU partnerships with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and three high-need Pennsylvania school districts—Chester-Upland, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia.

The TNT teacher scholarships will provide support to select participants.

All eligibleEducating Middle-grades Teachers for Challenging Contexts (E=mc²) program participantsare welcome to apply for either the Wachovia E=mc² Educator’s Scholarship or the Temple Noyce Teacher Scholars Scholarships.

Scholarships and awards are available on a competitive basis to help students. Total scholarships are distributed over the following semesters: Summer II2012 Fall 2012; Spring 2013; Summer I 2013; and semesters.

Eligibility Requirements

The following eligibility requirements must be met:

• Applicant must be officially accepted into the E=mc² program

• PRAXIS II Scores must be in the passing range

• Transcripts

• U.S. Citizenship
