International Specialized Exhibition
“Apteka 2010”
Moscow hosted the 17th International Specialized Exhibition “Apteka-2010” from 6th till 9th of December. The exhibition was organized by “Euroexpo” company. The exhibition was supported by the Commission on Health Care and Public Health of the Moscow City Duma, as well as leading industry associations: Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Russian Association of Pharmacy Chains, Russian Association of Pharmaceutical Marketing, Association of Pharmacies “SoyuzFarma”, Association for the Advancement of Medical Information Technology, Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations Union.
The official opening ceremony was attended by the deputy of the Moscow City Duma, Deputy Chairman of MCD Committee on Economic Policy and Entrepreneurship, I.Yu. Novitsky, who noted in his speech the importance of healthcare development and called this sphere one of the highest priorities for the Government of Moscow.
General Director of LLC “KSTgroup” G.F. Yuganova congratulated the guests and participants on the exhibition opening and the International Business Medical & Pharmaceutical Forum, which has become a good tradition of the exhibition “Apteka”. The Forum, whose co-organizer was “KSTgroup” Company, brings together representatives of leading industry companies and organizations, representatives of government agencies and leading specialists. In the Forum program there are discussed the most pressing problems of pharmaceutical industry.
E.D. Shabardina, the Head of the Directorate of guest exhibitions at Central Exhibition Centre “Expocentre”, noted the scale and importance of the exhibition “Apteka” held for the second time in the Expocentre, and wished successful work and fortunate business achievements to the participants and visitors of the exhibition.
For the second consecutive year, the exhibition “Apteka” has been held in CEC “Expocentre” in hall No. 3 in conjunction with the International Exhibition “Healthcare” as part of Russian Health Care Week.
In the course of the years, the exhibition “Apteka” has become the main event, a meeting place for professionals of the medical and pharmaceutical industry. Every year the exhibition is attended by leading operating companies, manufacturers and suppliers of medicines, medical products, skin care products, homeopathy, mineral water, aromatherapy, BAA and phyto-products, parapharmaceutics, dentistry, orthopedics and massage and sanitary products, products for newborns, pharmacy equipment, medical equipment, information and consulting services, etc.
This year's exhibition “Apteka” was attended by 216 companies from 16 countries: Belarus, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Germany, Denmark, India, Italy, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, the United Arab Emirates, Romania, Turkey, the Ukraine, and the Czech Republic.
Russia was introduced at the exhibition by the following cities and regions: Barnaul, Bryansk, Vladivostok, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, Ryazan, St. Petersburg, Stavropol, Tver, Tula, Orenburg, Ufa; Volgograd, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Ivanovo and the Ryazan regions; the Altai and Stavropol Territory.
Among the exhibitors were such well-known domestic and foreign companies as Innovation Centre “1C Rarus”, “Altay biopharmaceutical cluster”, SPC “Eskom”, “Medsintez” plant, “N.A. Semashko Moskhimfarmpreparaty”, “Borisov Plant of Medical Substances”, “Design Vector”, “Proektika”, “Tandem-West”, “Tatkhitmfarmpreparaty”, “Farma Garant International”, “Mann & Schröder Russland”, “Dr Reddy`s Laboratories”, Himedia Laboratories, Rotapharm Pharmaceuticals
Total area of the exhibition has made up this year- 4661 square meters.
The number of visitors was more than 10000.
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS HEALTH & PHARMACEUTICAL FORUM
A distinctive feature of the exhibition “Apteka” is its rich scientific and practical program. Within limits of the event there is annually held the International Medical and Pharmaceutical Forum, sponsored in 2010 by the company “KSTgroup” together with “Euroexpo”. The Forum involved experts of all areas of pharmacy and medicine: the representatives of pharmaceutical companies and pharmacy chains, medical practitioners, professors, and representatives of the governmental authorities. In 2010, the Forum will consist of the following sections.
Business program began with the conference “The main aspects of government regulation in the drug market”. The event was attended by Yu.A. Krestinsky, the Director of the Institute of Public Health; S.V. Kononov, the Dean of the Pharmacy Faculty at Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy, the Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Association of Pharmacists; N.V. Bespalov, the Head of the analytical projects department of “Pharmexpert” Company, and G.V. Shyrshov, CEO of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers. During the discussion, there were formulated the basic aspects of state regulation of pharmaceuticals market, as well as stated and markedly increased attention of federal authorities to this industry, which has resulted in adoption of a number of important documents, such as the “Pharmaceutical industry development strategy up to 2020”, implying a significant stimulation of domestic manufacturers.
Also on the first day of the Forum there was held the conference “Picture of the domestic pharmaceutical industry in the pharmaceutical market interior”, which was attended by V.A. Dmitriev, Director General of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers; I.A. Glushkov, the Department Head on Corporate Development STADA CIS; A.V. Egorov, Director General of CJSC “PharmFirma “Sotex”; M.M. Manevich, the Head of Sales Department on directing the OTC medicine to “Akrikhin” Company; D.V. Ostrovsky, the President of Galinical Medicines Manufacturers Union, and N.V. Bespalov, the Head of Analytical Projects Department of “Pharmexpert” Company. In their reports and presentations, the participants considered the development dynamics of the pharmaceutical market and healthcare over the last few years, and discussed the near-term prospects and pressing problems, such as the need for localization, government regulation of medicine prices and export development.
In addition, on December 6 within the framework of the Forum there was hosted a presentation of “Empire Pharma” Company. CJSC “Empire Pharma” has been working on the Russian Federation market since 1996. The main area of the company’s business is the wholesale trade of medicines and medical products. Since 2005, the company has been the sole supplier of medicines sold under drug provision programs to preferential category of citizens, since 2007, drug provision to healthcare institutions in Saint-Petersburg.
On Tuesday, December 7, the Forum began with the conference “Pharmacy Business Modernization. Where to start?” by E.V. Nevolina, Executive Director of the Nonprofit Partnership “Aptechnaya Gildia” (“Pharmacy Guild”), who acted as the section organizer, told the audience about the history of the pharmaceutical business, which counts 430 years in Russia, as well as about the prospects of development and recent trends of the industry. The conference was attended by A.V. Gusev, Director General of Pharmacy Network “Rigla; D.V. Melik-Guseinov, Director of “Cegedim” Company; I.V. Kosova, the Head of the Management and Marketing in the Pharmacy Field Department of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia; and S.V. Kononova, the Dean of the Pharmacy Faculty at NSMA, who made presentations on various aspects of the introduction of new technologies and modernization of pharmaceutical business.
Concurrently there was held a symposium “Medsoft-Farma: information and communication technology in modern pharmacy”, organized by Association for the Advancement of Medical Information Technology (AAMIT). The moderator of the event was M.M. Eljanov, the President of Association. In the course of symposium there was discussed the concept of building a unified information and linguistic space in the field of drugs treatment, the possibility of using the Internet to effectively increase the sales. The discussion was attended by G.L. Vyshkovsky the President of the Group of companies “RLS”; E.M. Vasilev, Director General of Non-profit Partnership in promoting the development of programs on healthcare and drug supply “LINGVAFARM” and A.V. Yakovlev, Director of Sales; S.V. Gurko, Director General of LLC “Formula-Biznesa”; V.D. Bryksina, PR-manager of CJSC “Spargo Technologies” and D.A. Negrash, Team Leader; S.V. Bobkov, Director General of LLC “Bernoulli Numbers” and H. Torrents, Director of LLC “Pharmaself”.
As part of a business Forum there was held the conference “Strategy for pharmacy chains under the changed market conditions”, which was attended by N.V. Demidov, Director General of Marketing Study Centre (MSC) “Pharmexpert”; G.V. Inozemtsev, Deputy Director General of CJSC “Management Company “Aptechnaya Set’ 36.6”(“Pharmacy Chain 36.6”); T.P. Apolonova, Executive Director of LLC “Healthy People, St. Petersburg”. The organizer of the conference was the Russian Association of Pharmacy Chains (RAPC).
LLC “Polar” Company has presented “Optics in Pharmacy Chains”, covering various aspects in the opening of optical departments in pharmacies, legal issues, costs and payback.
In the conference “Non-pharmaceutical marketing in the pharmaceutical retail”, organized by Russian Association of Pharmaceutical Marketing (RAPM) there participated Feldman O.P., Director General of “Comcon-Pharma” Company; N.V. Demidov, Director General of MSC “Pharmexpert”; S.A. Shuliak, Director General of “DSM Group”; Ignatieva N.V., Executive Director of the RAPC; Moderator of the meeting was G.V. Inozemtsev, Director on Commercial Activity and Portfolio Development of Management Company “Pharmacy Chain 36.6”, Co-Chairman of the Coordinating Council RAPM.
In parallel herewith, there took place the conference “Competitive struggle: making a bet on ....” dedicated to the legal regulation of competition, the existing tools of influence and pricing. The event was organized by the magazine “Rossiyskiye Apteki” (“Russian pharmacies”). Presentations were made by E.V. Nevolina, the Executive Director of the NP “Aptechnaya Gildia” (“Pharmacy Guild”); E. Yefremova, career coach of the company “Russian School of Management”; and an independent expert P. Lisovsky.
At the end of the business program of the second day of the International Business Medical & Pharmaceutical Forum there was held a presentation of “Kuraproks” Company, offering a wide range of high quality dental hygiene tools.
On the third day of the exhibition “Apteka 2010” the newspaper “Farmatsevtichesky Vestnik ” (“Pharmaceutical Reporter”) organized the conference “Pharmaceutical market of network retail. Reviews, analysis, development trends”, which was attended by D. Knyazhev, the Editor in Chief; A. Karpov, Deputy Director General of Pharmacy Network “Doctor Stoletov”, as well as A. Gusev, Director General of pharmaceutical network “Rigla”.
Association of pharmacies “Soyuzfarma” held the conference “Pharmacy market. Legal reset” moderated by D.G .Tselousov, the Executive Director of the AP. Also reports on regulatory matters and professional advice were made by M.A. Demidova, the Head of Management and Economics of Pharmacy Department at Tver State Medical Academy, and A.A.Fedoseev, the Head of Economic Security Service.
The program of the International Business Medical & Pharmaceutical Forum concluded with a practical workshop “Pharmacy and pharmacist. Quality service at the pharmacy: what is it and why” organized by the consulting company “Imidzh personal” (“Image personnel”). Participants of the workshop together with the moderator and the announcer identified the main tools of behavior and quality necessary for the pharmacist at work.
The History of Exhibition:
In 1994, the exhibition was held at the Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh” (CEH “Manege”). Since 1999, the exhibition has been held in the Sports Complex “Olimpiysky” (SC “Olympic”). In the period since 1994, “Apteka” was held in Moscow and other Russian cities for more than 15 times (St. Petersburg, Kiev and others).
In 2009, the exhibition company “Euroexpo” and CEC “Expocentre” join their forces for the simultaneous holding of two major exhibitions on medical and pharmaceutical topics – the 16th International Exhibition “APTEKA” and the 19th International Exhibition “Healthcare” – as part of RUSSIAN HEALTH CARE WEEK from 7th till 10th of December 2009 at the exhibition ground of “Expocentre”.
