Part 1: Plan
1. Step by step, what needs to be completed?
2. In each step make sure to include: time, resources, and what is going to be completed.
Complete all instructions and paperwork for Plan first before creating your documents on your computer or laptop.
This paperwork includes:
- Answers to several questions
- Three sketches of layouts for your flyer, brochure, and newsletter
- A “plan of attach” essay in which you provide a “play-by-play” synthesis and summary about your three planned documents.

Another person should be able to successfully complete your flyer, brochure, and newsletter based on the Plan part of Criterion C and your research and citations from Criterion A.
First, review the topic and basic information for our Who Am I? project.
You will create and present to the class three desktop publishing documents (a flyer, a brochure, and a newsletter) that will communicate who you are and how your personalities, interests, attitudes, values, hobbies, activities, and learning styles have been influenced by the world around them.
You will specifically address your MYP-IB experience, your learner profile traits, and how the world around you has shaped your personality.
You may also include in your desktop publishing documents a career of interest that matches who you are, based on self-assessment surveys or your interests, skills, values, attitudes, personality traits, and learning styles and the key influences on their lives to date.
You may also include important role models and other significant/positive influences on you and in your life.
Review the following PowerPoint presentations and your notes as you apply the six desktop publishing principles, along with the purpose and characteristics for each type of desktop publishing document (brochure, flyer, and newsletter).

~ “Plan of Attack” Essay ~
Here, type a very detailed summary of your plan and your work. In addition to planning out step by step what will go into your brochure, you need to also indicate your "plan of attack" - what needs to be done, what resources you will need when you plan to do it, how long you plan to spend working on that step. Again, fully detail and provide specifics in your “plan of attack!”
For a classwork grade, show Mr. Free both your answers to the questions on this document, your completed three layouts, and your summary that you typed above.
Part 2 - Create:
Step 1 – Use appropriate techniques and equipment.
Ask yourself these questions:
Are there shortcuts I should be using?
Am I using the best application to solve the problem?
Step 2 – Follow the plan.
Make sure to note any changes to the plan.
Step 3 – Create the product/solution.
There is no need to answer the above questions for Create in this document. Instead, thoroughly discuss these three steps and questions in your process journals. Give a “play-by-play” account of exactly what you did, what changes/additions were made, and explain why.

If you find it necessary to change your plan as you go through the process of creating your product,be sure to document all changes on your plan.
