HISTORY
IMPACT Sierra Vista was first created in November of 2010, formerly known as Sierra Vista Community Coalition. With the help of fiscal agent SEABHS Inc. and funding from Cenpatico Integrated Care, the coalition was created to address the issues of substance abuse among the youth in our community. IMPACT Sierra Vista consists of local key stakeholders who are invested in increasing community perception of harm of underage drinking and substance abuse. The coalition is taking a pro-active approach to prevention by educating the community on substance abuse and by providing drug-free activities for families in Sierra Vista. In this coming year the coalition will be working to collaborate with schools, youth, and other community sectors to implement evidence-based (proven by research to be effective) prevention strategies throughout the community and including as many community sectors as possible.
