The minutes of the last meeting were accepted.

  1. Review of workshops

It was felt that the revalidation workshops were well-received (there is one more to go in Leeds for which 17 people have signed up). Concerns were expressed about the fact that MEDSU has yet to have its designated body status restored. The Edinburgh workshop has been cancelled for lack of interest.

  1. How to liaise with members

Lesley has been working on the Divisions who are all happy to receive representation from PIPSIG. There is a dearth of volunteers for this role, however.

  1. Other topics for regional workshops

After a discussion it was agreed that we would try and arrange a workshop on the use of the internet for consultations in Feb/March 2015. Danny will investigate.

  1. ‘Dating agency’ for peer groups

PIPSG is happy to support this idea, which can be effected either by people posting on the forum or by contacting Danny via Sue Duncan so that they can be included in occasional ‘round-robins’.

  1. CPD Modules

Lesley will also speak to Bob Peckitt about the possibility of doing online modules on internet safety and dealing with complaints.

Development – Ann Paul

A fruitful discussion took place with several ideas put forward for social events for retired doctors which could be harnessed to many of the development streams currently underway. Ann Paul will follow up with Danny.

  1. Ideas for Congress 2015

It was agreed that Danny would put forward a suggestion based on his workshop for people starting out in psychiatric practice.

It was agreed to ask for a volunteer to do a newsletter.
