HAP SOUTH NEWSLETTER- OCTOBER 2017

HIP HIP HOORAY!!! We all survived the first month of school. The kindergarteners are old pros now and our new friends have made “friends” with our old friends. The HAP students were busy creating arts and crafts, learning a few new gym games and busy playing with our new toys and games. Homework in the library is as popular as ever.

We have made a few changes with our Aspen HAP students. Aspen students will remain at Aspen Elementary after dismissal (2:05) until 3:05 when they will be walked over to Elementary South to join in with the South HAP students. Aspen students may be picked up before 3:05 by visiting the Aspen office where they will call down to the cafeteria for your child. During the hour that students are at Aspen, they will have snack, enjoy table games and free art and getting started on homework. Thank you for being patient during this transition!

MEET YOUR HAP SOUTH STAFF:

Each month I will introduce you to a staff member.

Sean Chatterjee is the Recreation Leader for HAP South. This is Sean’s third year with the Vernon Hills Park District. He started out at HAP North helping the program get started. Sean is also the “Kid Zone” Camp director during the summer as well as directing the extended care program. Sean also assumes a supervisory role for “Last Blast” Camp at the end of summer.
