PTSA Board nominations and elections are coming soon for the 2017/2018 School Year. All PTSA positions are open. ALL submissions are welcome! Submit yourself or someone you know! President
The president is the presiding officer and the official representative of the association.Responsibilities include presiding over meetings, coordinating the work of officers and committees, lead PTA toward specific goals chosen by its members and to oversee the process, and assure that goals are consistent with the policies and Purposes of the PTA.
VP of Membership
The membership vice president plans the annual membership campaign. Duties include creating and implementing a membership plan, promoting membership throughout the year, collecting dues, and distributing membership cards.
VP of Communication
VP of Communication is tasked with coordination of communication between the association, school, and the members of the school community. Duties include reviewingand communicating PTA calendar of events, setting submission deadlines for publications, overseeing communication modes such as website, social media, event promotion and publicity.
VP of Fundraising
VP of Fundraising is tasked with coordination of fundraising efforts and being the chairperson for the fundraising committee. The major responsibility of the fundraising committee is to raise the amount needed to meet the proposed unit budget.
Treasurer
The treasurer is the authorized custodian of all funds and financial records of the local PTA. The treasurer’s duties include paying bills as authorized, and keeping a hard copy of all financial recordsin order to demonstrate gross income, expenditures, and dues paid.Treasurer preparesand submitsreports to comply with due dates of school, state and national PTA.
Financial Secretary
The financial secretary is authorized to receive all monies collected by the PTA, coordinate immediate deposit of collected funds to PTSA account, issue and keep accurate record of receipts, and prepare an Annual Financial Report of all monies received during the fiscal year.
Recording Secretary
The recording secretary keeps an accurate, concise, permanent record of the proceedings of all meetings of the association and of the executive board. Responsibilities include maintaining all minutes, records,documents and papers except those assigned to others.
Historian
The Historian captures, assembles and preserves record of activities and achievements. This includes collecting volunteer hours for PTA meetings and events, completing and submitting the Annual Historian Report to council/district PTA, and filling out the Historian Summary Report.
Parliamentarian
The Parliamentarian reviews and studies the bylaws and standing rules annually, communicates revisions approved by the membership, and oversee process for election of new members. Parliamentarianadvises presiding officer on questions of parliamentary procedure.
Fifth Grade Representative
The 5th grade representative is the chair of the 5th grade committee. This committee is responsible for raising funds and coordination of safe, legal and supervised recreational events for 5th grade students in cooperation with the community.
Auditor
An auditor is appointed and ratified to audit the books and financial records of the association. Auditor verifies on a report whether all necessary report forms for insurance and tax returns have been completed and recommends corrections to ensure accuracy of records as needed.
