Adult & Community Education Resource Person –fixed purpose contract
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for posts that may arise as Adult & Community Education Resource Person(s) in the Cork ETB Adult & Community Education Service. The initial placement will be on a part time basis of 18.5 hours per week with initial placement in the Farranree / Churchfield area. A panel may also be established for additional posts that may arise during the forthcoming academic year, 1 September 2014 to 31 August 2015.
The role of the Adult & Community EducationResource Person would involve elements from the range listed below, working to the Adult Literacy Organiser [ALO], AEO and the ETB management structure.
- Assisting the ALO where appropriate including identification of local Education & Training needs, administration, monitoring, accommodation, training, and resources of a range of programme options according to the priorities of the service.
- Recruitment of Students, coordination and supervision of assessment, accreditation, and student support (including initial assessment and placing of learners, monitoring learner attendance and progress)
- Reporting and Evaluation
- Up to 20 hours (10 hours part time) class / student contact per week as required.
- Programme development including programme design, curriculum development, training and resource support
- Attendance at appropriate in-service training (as required) and substituting for a tutor, where appropriate
- Awareness and Promotion
- Outreach
- Liaison with relevant stakeholders and services
- Other duties that may arise in the delivery of services
Required Qualifications: Adult & Community Education Resource Person –
- Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
- Have been awarded theHigher Certificate in Arts in Literacy Development or equivalent recognised Adult Education Qualification.
- Have worked as anAdult & Community Education Tutor for a period of at leastone year
2. Other desirable relevant Experience.
The following elements are desirable but not essential for appointment to this post:
- Experience in tutor education management
- Management of volunteers and participation in Adult Education & Training, In-career Development training, or equivalent education/training in adult, youth or community work
- Experience of working in a team environment
- Supervisory or management experience
