Nov.7-10th Read: Honk! Honk! Story of Migration Story about diff. Animals and their babies. What is a baby elephant called? A zebra? Ask your child. See if they can tell you. Read: Dinner at Panda Palace;
Nov.14-22 Read: Animal Babies in Grasslands; What do you think the author wanted us to learn in this story? Who were the animals from the story yesterday? What was the author trying to teach us? Which is your favorite animal? Why? Name the animal baby, and see if students can name the mother.
Read: Stories about Thanksgiving. Diverse cultures /histories-Contributions of Native American cultures. / Science: Migration- Tie into global aspects with globe/maps/continents.
Live zoo cam of Pandas-(Dinner at Panda Palace)-China-different cultures.
Animal Babies in the Grasslands-Discussion with students on Global differences and similarities.
Social Studies:
Veterans and American symbols.

Classroom schedule:

7:30-Morning work-literacy or math

7:45-8:45 Math-whole group and small group.

8:45-9:30 Letterland

9:30-10:00 recess/snack/toilet -On PE days we will do a reading, writing, math, or science activity at this time.

10:00-11:25 Literacy-Guided reading groups/writing.

11:10-11:25 Return books to the media center daily except on assigned Media days in the Enhancement rotation.

11:25-12:15 Enhancement

12:15-12:40 Social Studies and/or Shared reading

12:40-1:10 Lunch

1:10-2:15 Writing, Social Studies, Science, progress monitoring and/or small group work.

Fridays at 1:30 buddy reading with Ms. Meddaugh’s 5th grade class.

Folders: Please check them everyday and take out any papers. I use the folder to send such items as: Newsletters, notes, completed work, any assignments, permission forms for field trips, & volunteer forms. It is important that you open and view the contents of your child’s folder each day. Please feel free to use this folder to send information to me such as sick notes, lunch money, field trip money, etc.
