The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Permitted Parking and Special Parking Area)(Consolidation) (Amendment No.58) Order 20**
Statement of Reasons.
Wrights Green Lane-Little Hallingbury
The order is required to keep the frontage of the school free of parked vehicles where any parking is considered to be a hindrance to access & pupil safety. Removing parked vehicles will also improve safety and reduce the probability of road traffic accidents and promote access to larger vehicles, particularly the school bus which will benefit from its own parking space.
Chaters Hill-Saffron Walden
The extension of current waiting restrictions is deemed to be required due to obstructive parking which occurs at site, contributing to the erosion of the greensward bank. Removing parking will provide greater access to all motorists including drivers of larger vehicles.
Elephant Green-Newport
The introduction of waiting restrictions is deemed to be required due to obstructive parking which occurs at site, and the removal of parking will provide greater access to all motorists and drivers of larger vehicles, including refuse freighters.
East Street/Common Hill/Ashdon Road-Saffron Walden
The conversion of limited waiting bays in Common Hill and Ashdon Road will provide local residents with no legitimate off street parking with access to on street permit parking bays with nominal impact to the provision of limited waiting bays for the use of any other motorist.
The introduction of additional permit parking bays in East Street in place of the now defunct Police Station zigzag access marking will provide local residents with much needed added space where parking is at a premium.
Chapel Hill-Stansted
The permanent order is proposed to improve the parking provision available to local residents and their visitors in the road and to prevent access issues regularly encountered. The road is within a short walking distance of the train station and non-residents often park in areas inappropriately, causing inconvenience to road users and local property owners.
Honey Road/Warwick Road/Clarendon Road/Bennet Canfield/Burgattes Road
The permanent order is required to keep the road free of parked vehicles where any parking is considered to be a hindrance to access, particularly with vehicles associated with refuse collection, emergency services and the bus service. The order will also serve to improve and preserve the amenities of the area served by the road and improve safety and access at junctions and on roundabouts where parking currently occurs.
A1060 Stortford Road-service road-Hatfield Heath
The permanent order is required to keep the road and junctions free of parked vehicles where any parking is considered to be a hindrance to access. The order will also serve to improve and preserve the amenities of the area through which the road runs. Removing parked vehicles will also improve safety and reduce the probability of road traffic accidents and promote access to larger vehicles, if required. The introduction of dual use permit/limited waiting bays will provide those residents with no off street parking provision with spaces as well as parking opportunities for visitors to local businesses.
