Associate Director

Purpose

Purpose:

The Senior Associate Director is the administrative oversight for a complete box office operation to include ticket sales, event marketing, patron/ticket holder communication, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

Function 1:

Lead the box office staff in promotion and sales of tickets via utatickets.com by implementing best practices, developing customer relations, and marketing special event venues and events. Customer groups to include, but not limited to: season ticket holders, Maverick Club members, Alumni Association members, University campus members, and the greater DFW community.

30% Time

Function 2:

Coordinate with contracted vendor(s) and the Office of Development in sponsorship and development endeavors as it pertains to ticket sales and box office operations.

20% Time

Function 3:

Oversee box office operations internal controls, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and policy and procedure development.

10% Time

Function 4:

Make pricing recommendations that ensure venue users are maximizing revenue potential via house scaling.

10% Time

Function 5:

Work with University and non-University promoters on overall fan experience opportunities.

Function 6:

Work with senior staff in establishing goals and marketing strategies for Special Event Facilities non-campus bookings.

Function 7:

Manage Request to Purchase process as it pertains to the acquisition of third party vendor sales, on-line ticketing systems, and other procurement needs.

Function 8:

Hire, train, and supervise UTA Box Office (Special Event Facilities) and Intercollegiate Athletics professional personnel.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Four-year degree in Business Administration or related field; 8 to 15 years of experience in ticket sales, ticket promotions, and operational management; A track record of developing marketing strategies in ticket promotions; Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to motivate; A strong network within the ticketing/sports marketing industry; Strong analytical skills, including the ability to project and track sales using industry data, historical trends, and other relevant data; Proficiency in managing data through traditional tools like Excel as well as CRM tools; Strong initiative; Strong independence; Ability to work well in a team environment and build relationships across the organization; Excellent attention to detail and highly organized; Strong communication skills, including writing, public speaking and high-level client interaction; Strong commitment to ticket sales success and customer satisfaction; and a thorough knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with professional sports teams in the area of ticket sales and marketing.
