Title: Project Development and Time Management
Unit Overview:
Once students gather information needed for their project, they must organize the information to support the project’s essential question and objectives.Prerequisites: Principle of Business and Management, Accounting I, and Accounting II
General Learning Objectives or Goals:
Students will construct an detailed outline and analysis illustrating the development of their accounting project with the use of scholarly literary sources- Formulate the essential question of the project with three supporting learning goals/focus questions.
- Find company information for similar real world businesses: financial information, current news and background information, history, and data analysis
- Submit a timeline of major steps for completion with projected completion dates
- Complete literature reviews with peer feedback submitted on an online discussion board (new article reviewed each week). The student presenting the article must come up with three discussion questions.
- Students will submit an detailed outline of the proposal

- What is an essential question?
- Collaborative groups: Create essential questions based on past Accounting Units?
- Possible Essential Questions
- Focus goals/objectives based on essential question and past area of study on (Connection to past Accounting lesson(s))
- Lesson 2
- Research real life company with similar product, background, or financial data to subject material found in the project
- Compile current news and background information (success rate, market, products, etc,)
- Research the company’s history (How was it established?)
- Analyze financial information
Lesson 3
Literature investigation
- At least 15 literary sources summarized with bibliographic annotations
- Literature review: three discussion questions created, moderated and discussed with the rest of the class.
- Narrow final topic based on sources
