Club Happenings
Unfortunately this editor did not make it to the last meeting so the club did not have a quorum for official business. Notes from our fearless leader, Tom, let me know that everyone is working on their Sci-Fi project for our June contest and it will be very interesting to see what everyone comes up with for the show. Speaking of the show, I have sent out inquiries to the vendors who participated at our show last year to drum up some business. We will be starting to put together the plaques for this year’s contest soon and they should be fantastic and better than last year.
Projects that club members are currently working on include: from Jim, a T34-76 Russian tank, Motorcraft T-Bird and Lee Shepard Camero Pro Stock cars, and a 1/48 B-25J; From Tom, the Witch Doctor dragster, several armor, and a gasser which he is in the beginning stages of building for the show; a t34-78 from Tim along with his Sci-Fi project; and Tony is still working on his Dodge Pro-Mod/Pro Stock ultimate build along with a 1972 GTO. Jerry was given a Monogram 1/48 B-24J to begn work on from Tom and it should be a good one by the time he is done with it. Look for those creations at contests in the coming months.
IPMS Chapter News
From our RC comes word that he is looking for nominations for the following: club of the year, newsletter of the year, web site of the year, and several other awards. He needs to hear from us by March 1, 2015 and you can get details on how to participate from Jim.
Kelly is also looking for clubs to start thinking of hosting the 2016 Region 5 contest. This year’s Regional is in St. Louis and for further details, check out the IPMS web site at
