Welcome to 5th grade! We are very happy to be your teachers this year. We are a job share team so Mrs. Nechaev will teach Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Mrs. Rench will teach every Thursday and Friday. We will both be there to greet you on the first day of school! We will be your math and science teachers as well as your homeroom teachers. Each day, you will also rotate to Mrs. Williams’ class for language arts and social studies. We have so much to learn and experience this year so we are expecting our students to show up ready to go and ready to be fantastic fifth grade citizens! You are the oldest students on campus now and you have the chance to be a great example to others!
Here is what you will need to have in order to be successful and organized this year. Please let us know ASAP if you will not be able to purchase these items and we will make arrangements to get you what you need to be successful and organized! or
ü 2 inch 3 Ring Binder (3 INCH IS TOO BIG)
ü Zippered pencil pouch that clips into the rings for holding pencils, dry erase markers etc. (NO PENCIL BOXES PLEASE-YOU WILL BE ROTATING BETWEEN TWO CLASSES DURING THE DAY AND IT IS TOO MUCH TO CARRY)
ü 2 thin dry erase markers (and more for backup throughout the year)
ü Pencils- Ticonderoga are the BEST brand, they break less and sharpen well. Please purchase lots of back ups and leave 5 or 6 in your pencil pouch at all times
ü Red pens for correcting
ü Personal erasers (and more for backup throughout the year)
ü Personal pencil sharpener of good quality that can catch its own shavings (this was a HUGE help to students but many broke halfway through the year so we recommend buying a backup while it’s on sale)
