Rules of Entry

Fantasy Grand Prix is open to all at the discretion/invitation of the FGP Manager. All players must have access to the internet, as all results areonly available via the FGP website. An email account is required for contact purposes.

The fee for this year’s season is £20.00per team – this covers all 21races.

  • All entries must be received by Wednesday 14 March latest - The First Race is Sunday 25 March in Australia.
  • All fees must be paid prior to the first race weekend of the season. Cheques payable to ‘Kevin Staden’. To pay from your bank account direct please contact Kevin.
  • All entries must be submitted via the Entry Form or the ‘Team Selector’ spreadsheet, which can print an entry form. Entries may also be emailed to me.
  • There is no limit to the number of teams each player may submit.

Select Your Team

  • Teams are made from ‘Elements’: A driver is an element. A car is an element.
  • A complete Fantasy Grand Prix team is made up as follows :

Important: See ‘Rules About Teams’ and ‘Transfers'

  • You are allotted £70-Million Pounds for your Race Team
  • You are allotted £40-Million Pounds for Transfer Team 1 (plus - see * below)
  • You are allotted £20-Million Pounds for Transfer Team 2 (plus - see ^ below)

*Any money left over after selecting your Race Team may be added to your Transfer Team 1 funds.

^Any money left over after selecting Transfer Team 1 may be added to your Transfer Team 2 funds.

Rules About Teams – Important!!

  • The Race Team can only have ONE element from real F1 teams where marked *. This rule applies to the start of the season up to and including Race 15. From Race 16 onwards, you may include any number of elements from all F1 teams in your Fantasy Grand Prix Team.
  • All other F1 Teams, you may select one, two or all three elements at any time for your FGP Race Team.
  • Your Transfer Teams may contain several elements from a real F1 team, howeverWhen transfers are made the Race Team must adhere to the rules above.
  • Drivers may not be placed in their real F1 Car at any time throughout the season.
  • You may only name a Constructor or Driver once (i.e. No duplicates anywhere in teams)
  • NEW/UDATED CHANGE: When selecting a Driver, you are actually selecting that teams Driver no. 1 or no. 2 as indicated in the table below (This is only relevant should drivers transfer between F1 teams during the season - See Driver Changes and Replacements below)
  • You must select an element for all spaces (i.e. You may not select only 3 transfers for T1, or one for T2)
  • Please Note: It is advisable to include a mix of Drivers and Cars in transfers (but not compulsory)
  • For every team entered, each player MUSTsupply an alternative choice.
  • Unique Teams: At the start of the season all Teamsmust be unique. This will be based on the Race Team plus the highest priced elements in T1 and T2.Driversthat are placed in opposite cars (in Race Team) to another team will be considered unique.
  • Identical teams: Players will be randomly selected, the ‘loser’ getting their Choice 2 team (The FGP Manager's decision is final).
  • Each team should be given a ‘Team Name’ (Note: Offensive Team Names will not be permitted)
  • A complete list of all teams (‘The Starting Grid’) will be published before the first race.

  • Your race team may not exceed a total of £70-million
  • Your Transfer Team 1 may not exceed £40-million + the value leftover from Race Team fund.
  • Your Transfer Team 2 may not exceed £20-million + the value left over from Transfer Team 1 fund.
  • Totals may be under the full available amounts.
  • Once transfers are made (within transfer seasons) Race Team values may exceed £70-million.

The Point Scoring System

Note: Points are scored by your Race Team (3Drivers/3 Constructors)

Qualifying

Points will be awarded for Qualifying as follows :

These points are scored by all drivers, and the best placed car of each Constructor.

  • The qualifying position will be the position that Drivers/Cars actually qualified at, not their Grid position
  • If a Driver/Constructor is disqualified from qualifying but still races, they will score zero Qualifying points but still start at their Saturday position (as they will most likely start the race at the back or the from the pits they will not receive race improvement points until passing their original qualified position.
  • Should the disqualified driver/constructor not race, that space on the FGP Grid will not be filled (i.e. Drivers behind do not move forward)

Race Points (End of Race)

Points are awarded to Drivers and Cars at the end of the race depending on what position they finish in. Both cars of a Constructor will score points for their respective positions. If a Driver or Car does not finish the race, they do not receive these points.

Improvement Points :

  • Drivers will get 5 points per place made up in the race - Up to a maximum of 50 points. Therefore if a driver starts from 10th and finishes 4th he will receive 30 improvement.
  • The best finishing car of a Constructor will score 5 points per place made up against that Constructor’s best start position - Up to a maximum of 50 points.

For example: if a team qualified 5th and 10th on the grid and those cars finished in 3rd and 6th then the best finishing car would score 10 points. (i.e. The highest starter’s position is deducted from the highest finisher’s position and (if the result is positive) multiplied by 5 to a maximum of 50)

Fastest Lap Points :

The Driver and the Constructor that achieves the Fastest Lap of the race are each awarded 20 points.

Car and Driver Bonus Points :

If one or your teams Driver and Car combinations finishes then 10 points will be scored. If two Driver/Car combinations finish, 20 points will be scored. If all three Driver/Car combinations finish then 35 points will be scored.

Note:Both cars of the F1 Team must finish to score the bonus points. i.e. If you have Hamilton in a Sauber and only one Sauber car finishes = No points are scored for that combination.

FIA Classified Result and Amendments

  • A Driver/Car that does not finish within the last few laps will often be classified within the official FIA result. Under such circumstances the finish position in FGP will equal that of the FIA Classified Result.
  • The FGP result will be based upon that of the race, together with any amendments that may be imposed up to Thursday Midnight before the next race (Last Race: Midnight after the race).
  • Appeals and any F1 sanctions, point penalties etc, after the above time/date will have no effect on FGP (Subject to below).

Driver Changes and Replacements

  • If a driver is replaced, injured or does not race for any other reason (including a ban imposed by the FIA), then any FGP team that has that driver will automatically get his replacement (Including TransferTeams).
  • The replaced driver, if desired and if within thetransfer period, may be transferred out (subject to transfer rules).
  • If a Constructor is banned then no points will be scored for that constructor in FGP teams (as the cars will not race). Obviously the driversof that constructor will also be affected. FGP players may, if desired and within the transfer period, transfercars and drivers(subject to transfer rules).
  • In the unlikely circumstance that a Constructor (or Driver) is banned but continues to race, the FGP will not be affected by such a ban and Constructors (and Drivers) will still score allFGP points.
  • If a real team does not compete in any number of races for any reason other than a ban, or withdraws from Formula One then the FGP teams that include that team will not get replacements. However, under such circumstances you may transfer the cars and drivers if the transfer window is open. If not open you must wait.
  • NEW/UPDATED CHANGE: If a driver transfers mid-season to another F1 team you will get his replacement. This rule also covers when two (or more) drivers switch between teams.
  • Example: If you have Hamilton (at Mercedes) and he switches with Vandorne (at McLaren), you now get Vandorne at Mercedes as he has filled the Mercedes driver slot.

Cancelled Races
In the event of a race being cancelled, the following will apply:

  • The Prize money from that race will be distributed within the Race and Championship Prize fund. All players will be notified of the new Prize amounts.
  • If Qualifying takes place but the race does not, the entire FGP race will be considered cancelled and no prizes will be issued for it. The prize money will be re-distributed as above.
  • All other changes will be applied as required (The FGP Managers decision being final).

Transfers and ‘Fees’

  • You may make transfers after Race 7for the rest of the season as follows :
  • Elements from Transfer Team 1 (T1) may be used after Race 7until the end of the season.
  • Elements from Transfer Team 2 (T2) may be used after Race 15until the end of the season.
  • Transfersto your Race Team must adhere to the rule of no more than one element from a real F1 team for those marked with an asterisk (*) at any time prior to Transfers 2.
  • You may have as many drivers plus car as you wish from all other F1 Teams that are Not marked with an asterisk
  • No Drivers may be placed in their own cars at any time.
  • You may transfer one element (Driver/Car) per race from your Transfer Team(s) into your Race Team.
  • Any transfers made up to and prior to Race 15 are ‘Free’ (No loss of Championship Points)
  • Any Transfers made after Race 15 will cost 350 Championship Points per transfer
  • Points will be deducted from your accumulated Championship Points, not Race Points). The ‘Fee’ points are deducted from the Championship with immediate effect.
  • You may notmove already placed drivers between cars in your Race Team unless it is to facilitate the rule regards drivers in own F1 cars.
  • There is no limit as to how many transfers you may make in your team.
  • Once a Transferis made (FGP Manager notified), the driver/car must stay in that position for at least one race.
  • The FGP Manager must be notified of transfers/moves by email, by the Thursday before the race.
  • Note: This will be earlier for Races that Practice Sessions start prior to the Friday of Race Weekends. The FGP Manager will notify players of such times when required.
  • Transfers will come into effect the race after notification.
  • Note: After transfers, Race Team values may exceed £70-Million

Results

The results of each race will be published via the FGP web site, and players will be informed of the update via email. The FaceBook page will also have a notification added. Results will be issued as soon as possible by the FGP Manager.

Prize Money, etc

Cash Prizes are available for each Race and the overall Championship. Once all teams are entered the Cash Prize amounts will be published on the web site.

All prize money (Races and Championship) will be paid to winners at the end of the season. The Championship Table will include the Race Prize amounts that each player has accumulated up to that point.

Management, Queries and Disputes

  • FGP2018 is run by Kevin Staden ()
  • All money is held in an account set up exclusively for FGP.
  • The results will be calculated using an Excel spreadsheet.
  • F1 Race Results will be taken from the Formula One Official Web Site (
  • Any queries regards FGP results, etc, should be taken up with Kevin Staden by email in the first instance.
  • Please check carefully, and check the wording of this year’s rules.
  • Disputes, when possible, will be resolved within a 24-hour period, and if required, the result will be republished.
  • The FGP Manager agrees to correct individuals scores per race up to the Thursday prior to the next race. After this time it will be entirely at his discretion.
  • Anything not covered in the rules above shall be left to the FGP Manager’s discretion, and if required, additional covering rules will be introduced.
  • The FGP Manager’s decision on all matters is final.
  • By taking part in the competition you are agreeing to the above rules.
