Cooperative Group Management Plan
Ancient Egypt Project
Required Elements: these are NON-NEGOTIABLE!!!
Research – research should be divided equally among all members. Research includes visuals, video clips, all information needed to complete the project. Each group member must provide information for the works cited page in proper format for every resource used. If you have a five person group, you may consider breaking out the topic of “mummification” into a fifth topic of research.
Visual presentation – may be a power point, movie maker, or photo story presentation. Movie maker and photo story will produce a much more interesting presentation. Both programs are available on school computers and is a free download if you have Windows at home. The media center specialists will help you with these programs. The final task of putting all of the visuals together would probably best be handles by one or two group members. Whoever is putting the presentation together will need all materials at least three days ahead of time so they have time to put it together and try it out.
3D artifacts– the artifacts should probably be done by whoever is not putting the “movie” together. The artifacts must be “homemade” and can be a representation of anything found in the various burial sites. The artifacts must be accompanied by a printed museum display caption giving the historical facts about the artifact including, what it is, time period, what it is made of, and significance to the culture.
Works cited page – one person should put this together – must be MLA style – the MediaCenter specialists can show you an on-line template for this. Remember each group member must submit resource information in proper format.
Script–the oral presentation must be written out word for word. It should correspond to the visual presentation, slide by slide. Each person needs to write out the script for their part of the research and give it in the correct format to one person to compile into one document. You must have at least two copies of the script – one for presentation and one for the teacher to follow as you present.
Folder – the works cited page, the script, the task sheet properly completed, and all research notes labeled and organized should be put in a folder and turned in at presentation time. Please organize the documents in the folder and label everything. If it is not organized, the teachers will not accept it!
