Facilities

The Committee are delighted that the new sports hall facility is up and running at Boyle Park.

Our aim is to maximise the use of sports hall, pitch, training area and perimeter track for club members, family, friends and members of the local community.

It is great to see so many people using the walking track around the pitch. Due to our rising numbers, there has been a noticeable increase in demand for the use of pitch and track.

It is often possible to have everything being used at the same time – however for Health and SafetyReasonswe are required to maintain control over who uses the facilities and when.

For Insurance Reasonswe ask that everyone using our facilitiesbecome members of our club.

Drumgoon Eire Og GAA club is fully committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of its members and players.

Every individual in the club should at all times show respect and understanding for their rights, safety and welfare, and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the club and the guidelines contained in the code of ethics and good practice of the GAA.

Our Children’s officer for 2017 is Aiden Brasil and our DLP is Roseanna Clarke.

Young players can benefit greatly from sport in terms of enjoyment, personal development and learning new skills. As part of their development our players must be encouraged to realise that due to their participation they also have a responsibility to treat others with fairness and respect. With rights there will always be responsibilities.

We ask everyone to respect the decision of Referees at all times.

Any concerns a player has should be reported to the CHILDREN’S OFFICER OR THE CHAIRPERSON.

Most importantly ALL PLAYERS SHOULD HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THEIR SPORT

We thank all our coaches most sincerely for being so generous with their time and for all the encouragement, the skills and the knowledge they impart to all our players. Mile Buiochas.

We thank all parents and supporters for their help and support in the past. We ask for your continued support and help during 2017.

The emphasis at Underage Level for our coaches is the development of each child. Our main focus at Underage is not winning but progression.

Please bear this in mind at underage matches and support our coaches who are ensuring each child is given the time and the opportunity to progress.

Outdoor Adult Playground

Yes folks it is referred to a playground. What is it? Is it an outdoor gym? Well it is a collection of gym machines suitable for use outdoors. These machines are designed to be used by adults. The idea is that, being located outdoors, they are available to adult members at all times.

We have been awarded €16,000 from Clár programme to prepare the ground, acquire the machines and have them installed. We are currently making arrangements to drawdown this money and put outdoor equipment in place.

Anyone willing and available to do so can contact Aogán Farrell or Aiden Brazil
