Superintendent’s Welcome
Dear Students, Faculty Members, Parents and Guests:
The Rose Tree Media School District is honored to host the PMEA, District 12, 7th & 8th Grades String Fest. We are so fortunate to be gathered in this beautiful auditorium of the Springton Lake Middle School. What a fantastic day this has been as we have had with us 112 students and their directors from school districts located in Delaware, Chester, and Philadelphia Counties.
Usually, when middle school students come together from different schools they do so to compete. They wear uniforms made of their school colors and they do all they can to leave the field of play victorious over their opponents. Not this evening! This evening these students come together to pool their respective talents. We have the good fortune to hear the result of the synergy that will allow them to make music like never before. But we really hope that these students have learned just a little more than lessons in music. We hope that through this rich experience of musical participation they have broadened their horizons, gained a new appreciation for teamwork and made a few new friends along the way.
I would like to thank everyone responsible for making this day possible and offer my sincere congratulations to each and every one of the participating musicians.
Sincerely,
James M. Wigo, Sr.
