President’s Report:

Eileen Barber brought to EENA’s attention that the City of Boise is holding a meeting on March 11th to discuss The Zoning Ordinance amendment for multi-family standards -- including changes to the parking code that will cut back parking city wide. Bob will send copy of ordinance changes to all with letter that Steve wrote in reply. Board will make amendments to Steve’s letter and approve for sending to City. The board members present were not comfortable with the last sentence of Steve’s letter.

Green Project –will not happen at the McKinley/State or McKinley/Washington islands locations. Area survey found not compatible for project.

City Grants – Have not yet been awarded

Historic Preservation Commission Results - 910 E. Washington –New Vinyl windows do not have to be replaced; WSA home at 1625 approved for demolition

Financial Report –Account balance: $1,132.09

Website report: Neighbor to Neighbor and the Mayor’s survey generated a lot of hits.

Old Business:

Historic District signs – Nothing has been done – deadline was January 2013. Unclear why the hold up

City Hall Meeting Recap – meeting was mainly about Boise’s 25 year plan for the area. St Luke’s expansion did not come up because it has not been submitted yet. City will hold meetings as soon as more information becomes available. Meeting addressed long term traffic and transportation plans. Public meetings will be held soon for future area plans.

Tiffany will send an email to the board regarding St Luke’s proposal for expansion and possible closure of Jefferson – board will approve before Web posting.

New Business:

Annual Meeting – Wednesday, May 7th – Bob will reserve Roosevelt School

Board members should send Bob suggestions for discussion topics/presenters

Japanese Beetles & Goat heads – presenters for both requested

Traffic/Pedestrian issues on Reserve/Shaw Mt Road –pedestrians training for races - running opposite traffic (which is the law) on the inside of the road, fear is that cars will hit runners as they are a lot of blind corners. Feel it is a safety issue. Prefer all runners to stay on the outside of the road.

Suggestion made that EENA draft a letter (Christa will help Tiffany) requesting signs asking runners to run with the traffic up the road, rather than against it. Letter will be sent to all board for approval and then Bob will forward to ACHD. We could also contact the city and request that all future permits include signage being put up.

ACHD – McKinley islands – construction will start by July – input is welcome about landscaping. Contact ACHD. Andy will put blurb on website about this.

Next meeting: March 18 - a week early due to Spring break and board members unable to be present.

Meeting adjourned at 8:02pm
