(Most of these grants resulted in publications.)

Recipient of an award for outstanding dedication to Sigma Nu fraternity in 2002 as its faculty advisor.

Recipient of the Cahill Grant at UNCW to study the impact of hurricanes on real estate values in 2000 and another Cahill Grant in 2001 to examine the impact of hurricane risk upon homeowner behavior. (Both of these grants resulted in published research.)

Recipient of grants from BB and T to study the implications of cash accumulations for the rapidly growing firm and international acquisitions and divestitures in 2000 and 2001.

Awarded a grant from the Center for Applied Real Estate Education and Research (with Rob Burrus and Chris Dumas) at USC in 1999 to study the interactions of insurance, property values and defensive measures for homeowners in hurricane-prone areas.*
