CAREERS IN LAW

- Double grade -

This project will provide you the opportunity to separate fact from fiction in a law career of your choice. Choose a career to research from the provided list. Follow the step-by-step plan below as you work to the presentation day. Be sure to pace yourself by noting the approximated minutes next to each step.

Step 1: Choose a career from the provided list. (2 mins.)

Step 2: Review the questions that will need to be answered in your presentation. (2 mins.)

Step 3: Present your findings. (3 mins.)

Your choices are:

a.  Prezi Presentation (5 minutes)

b.  PowerPoint Presentation (5 minutes)

Step 4: Use the Internet during class to learn about your chosen career. Type notes in MS Word, saving to your Notes folder for future reference. Save frequently. (30 – 45 mins.)

Be sure to keep track of your resources as you do your research. My website has 3 online source citation links to Easy Bib, Bib Me, and Citation Machine. Please use these for proper MLA format.

Step 5: Document all sources in a MS Word Work Cited document. (10 mins.) You must have at least two sources. If you interview someone as a source write their name, relationship to you, job position, date you spoke with them, and phone number or email contact for verification.

Step 6: Be ready to answer questions about your topic from me or fellow classmates. (3 mins.)

TOTAL TIME NEEDED: 65 mins. TOTAL CLASS TIME PROVIDED: > 3 hrs.

You will have today, Tuesday, and Wed. (@199 mins.) of class time to work. If you do not finish during the provided class time, you will need to work on this assignment at home. If your presentation is not ready at the beginning of the period Friday (Sept. 1), you will receive a late penalty. Presentations will be Sept. 18.

Step 7: Your presentation is due at the beginning of the period Friday, September 18. You will not have this day to work on your presentation. Presentations will be in class on September 18th.
