Financial Assistance Information

Mission: Cranberry Girl Scouts to provide financial assistance to any registered Girl Scout who could not attend camp due to a financial situation.

Cranberry Area Service Team will discuss and approve financial determination.

Financial assistance may be requested and awarded based on one camp (either Day Camp or Mini Camp), once per membership year.

Guidelines of requesting financial assistance:

  • Application must be turned in by April 30th to be considered for Day Camp and May 31st for Mini Camp.
  • Application must be filled out completely and accurately. The more information you can provide the better!
  • All information provided will be kept confidential and only reviewed by Service Team members.
  • Application can be emailed, mailed or given to troop leader to turn in. Application can be found on the website
  • Service team has the right to consult with the troop leader in making a decision
  • Financial aid will be determined on a case by case basis only. There will be no set standard
  • Someone may contact you to get further information
  • If you have more than one daughter in scouts that you are requesting financial aid for, please complete a separate form for each sibling.

Financial Aid will be granted based on the following issues:

  • Availability of funds in the Service Area Financial Assistance Account. This will be based on demand of financial assistance each year and the amount in the account.
  • There is no minimum or maximum amount to be granted. Case by case basis only.

** Please note that Financial Assistance is also available through Girl Scouts Western PA for the following:

  • GSUSA Membership Registration Fee
  • One council-sponsored event
  • One council-sponsored summer day camp
  • One summer resident camp (including CORE and family camp)
  • GSUSA Destinations
