- COURSE DESCRIPTION
The aims of this course is to provide students a strong base physics, chemistry, earth science and astronomy so that they are prepared to undertake a range of courses that require knowledge, competency and applications of physical science in their chosen discipline of studies.

(A)Course Grade:
The course grade will be evaluated as follows:
Home works and quizzes0 % + 10%
Lab Report10 %

First Major Exam20 %

Final Exam 30 %
- Class Works:
The class work shall comprise of quizzes, home works etc., and any other assignments.
- Laboratory Works:
The lab work will be based on any or a combination of the lab reports, lab quizzes, lab exam, etc. as chosen by the Lab Instructor.
- Major and Final Examinations:
Major and Final Examinations are scheduled as follows:
First Major Exam / 30 Oct-3 Nov, 2010 / (Topics covered from Chapters 1-7)Second Major Exam / 18-22 Dec, 2010 / (Topics covered from Chapters 8-13)
Final Lab Exam / 1-5 Jan, 2011 / (All experiments covered throughout the semester)
Final Examination / 22 Jan-1 Feb, 2011 / (All topics covered throughout the semester from the chapters)
- ATTENDANCE
Attendance will be evaluated according to current university regulations. If your absences exceed (20% without official excuse or 30% with and without excuse) of the actual number of classes (contact hours), then a grade of DN is assigned to you in this course.
- Exams:
Sheet of important formulae will be provided in all exams.
Scientific calculators are allowed in all exams.
Cell phones and any type of dictionary are not allowed in the examination room.
