2.JOB PURPOSEThe key purpose of this role is to lead upon the project work in relation to the Structural Review.
There are two stages:
- Consultationwith key stakeholders, and developmental work associated with theStructural Review proposals
- Implementation of thefinal recommendations of the Structural Review

5.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- First degree or equivalent experience
- Project methodology aware/trained to a foundation level / or equi
- Significant experience of effective administration and project co-ordination, preferably in a customer services context
- Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of procedures and resources to inform the development of appropriate projects
- Excellent IT user skills
- Demonstrable experience of achieving challenging targets and high standards of service
- Ability to plan work across multiple subjects efficiently and with minimal supervision
- Demonstrable problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills that will facilitate day-to-day communication with both senior academics, practising professionals and other relevant stakeholder groups
- Good report-writing skills and the ability to communicate often complex material to a range of different audiences
- High attention to detail with a methodical approach
- Ability to work efficiently and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
- Prince / Agile methodology trained to a foundation level
- Experience of committee or other governance work
- Experience of working with volunteers or within a membership organisation context.
6.KEY RESULT AREAS
6.1 Lead upon the project and developmental work associated with the implementation of the Structural Review.
6.2 Provide feedback and reports to the Director and Structural Review Group regarding the management of the projects so that they are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
6.3 Plan and deliver a consultation programme with the member networks to obtain feedback that will develop project scopes and objectives
6.4 Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
6.5 Complete a risk assessment to minimise project risks, identify any potential issues or risks that could affect the progression of the project. Communicate these items to the Director and work to identify potential solutions.
6.6 Co-ordinate and contribute to meetings with members of the Structural Review Group
6.7 Ensure effective written and verbal communications to stakeholders with regards to project stages and developments
6.8 Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects
6.9 Manage the relationships between the Society and all stakeholders

8.SCOPE FOR IMPACT

The structural review group has undertaken a comprehensive piece of work in order to recommend a restructuring of the Society in order to improve organisational impact, create clarity within the governance structure, value the voice and contribution of members and better achieve the Society’s objects.
The terms of reference for the Structural Review have been to:
Review the role and purpose of each kind of member network and develop proposals for re-defining these roles and purposes
Review of the structure of MNs and develop proposals for a restructuring of MNs that would support the achievement of the Society’s strategic goals
Review and clarify the reporting lines within the governance structure
Review the suitability of the current systems for Section and Branch funding
In order to address these terms of reference the group has undertaken work on a number of projects.

The review group has made recommendations in respect of the first three terms and will proceed with reviewing the final term, in respect of funding systems, once proposals for restructuring networks have been agreed.
The next phase of the work will be the detailed consultation with the member networks, considering the review group’s recommendations. Additionally there will be a trial of key recommendations within the Governance term that will inform the consequential implementation phase.
This role is critical to ensure that all elements relating to the delivery of the Structural Review are co-ordinated, administered and communicated throughout the Society. Due to the different elements of the review, the post holder is required to monitor, understand, contribute and provide guidance to any potential changes or developments that may be required.
The postholder will play a key role in supporting and maintaining relationships with members who undertake work voluntarily on the Society’s behalf whilst consultation and the implementation of the review occurs.
