Lifeguard Requirements:

As a Regular Lifeguard, you will be on a higher pay scale then part-time guards.

If you apply and are hired for a regular lifeguard position, you must be prepared and available to work a minimum of thirty-two hours a week. While not making any guarantees, managers will endeavor to schedule regular lifeguards for thirty-two hours or more each week and to take into account times when a lifeguard may not be available when scheduling her or him. Limitations on availability may result in decreased hours. Regular guards will also be required to commit to a minimum of 7 full weeks of availability throughout the summer. If vacations, sports, school,or other commitments or activities prevent you from committing to 7 weeks of work, you will need to apply for part-time.

If you apply and are hired for a part-time lifeguard position, you must be prepared and available to work a minimum of fifteen hours per week. While not making any guarantees, managers will endeavor to schedule part time lifeguards for between fifteen and thirty-two hours per week and to take into account times when a lifeguard may not be available when scheduling her or him. As with regular lifeguards, limitations on availability may result in decreased hours.

Substitute guards will be scheduled on an as needed basis and are guaranteed no hours. All lifeguards applying for a substitute position as a 15 year old must obtain a work permit before he/she will be scheduled to work.

All work schedules will be created by the managers and will be based on availability turned in by the life guards. Availability information must be turned In when requested by the managers and lifeguards are expected to provide reasonable flexibility in their availability recognizing that their colleagues will have times when they are not available. While our managers will do their best to accommodate schedules, limited availability may result in decreased hours.
