Virginia Chamber Names Senator McDougle

Legislator of the Year

Hanover, VA: On Thursday, May 7, 2015, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce recognized Senator Ryan T. McDougle (R-Hanover) as 2015 Legislator of the Year at their annual awards dinner.

Senator McDougle, serving as Senate Republican Caucus Chairman and on the Senate Finance, Rules, Transportation, Courts of Justice and Rehabilitation and Social Services Committees, Senator McDougle fought for a stronger economy for Virginia and helped reject regulations that would undermine our business climate.

“The Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s Legislator of the Year Award is the business community’s premier legislative award honoring the lawmaker who demonstrates outstanding leadership on pro-business issues,” said Barry DuVal, President and CEO of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “During the 2015 General Assembly session, Senator Ryan McDougle championed policies that position Virginia for prosperity and long-term economic growth. He encouraged businesses to repatriate money from overseas and invest in Virginia, fought for more transparency and accountability in regulations that could harm businesses, and stood against legislation that would increase the cost of doing business in the Commonwealth. The Virginia Chamber applauds Senator McDougle for his leadership in standing for Virginia businesses and their employees.”

The Virginia Chamber of Commerce is the largest business advocacy organization in the Commonwealth, with more than 22,600 members. The Chamber is a non-partisan, business advocacy organization that works in the legislative, regulatory and political arenas to act as the catalyst for positive change in all areas of economic development and competitiveness for Virginia.
