Procedure and Conditions for NYWO Applications and Auditions
Applications are received by NYWO throughout the year.
Auditions are held during September and October each year at various centres around the UK.
Accompanists are provided for auditions.
Applicants are informed of Audition Dates and Venues in earlySeptember.
Results of auditions are sent out as soon as possible after the last auditions have been held.
- NYWO reserves the right, at all times, to cancel auditions at itscomplete discretion.
- Application Forms must be completed before an audition is held.
- All applicants MUST be no less than14 and no more than 21 years of age on 1st September in the year of their application.
- All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the beginning and end of the audition.
- Neither NYWO nor any of its agents nor employees shall be liable in any way whatsoever for loss or damage to property, howsoever caused.
- NYWO must be informed of any medical condition affecting any applicant, or of any medication taken by the applicant that may affect their performance, e.g. asthma, epilepsy, heart conditions. NYWO reserves the right to refuse any application on medical grounds.
- NYWO provides accompanists for auditions. You are expected to play with the NYWO accompanist. You will have the opportunity to meet them for a brief run through immediately prior to your audition.
- All places on NYWO courses are accepted on the understanding that Consent Forms are properly completed and signed and Course Fees are paid in full by the due date, which will be at least two months before the commencement of the first course of the year.
- All places on NYWO courses are accepted on the understanding that the student will attend both Spring and Summer courses in that year and will stay for the entire duration of those courses.
- All places on NYWO courses are accepted on the understanding that any instructions or directions given by any member of the NYWO staff are to be observed. Students are expected to maintain high standards of behaviour and show respect to others at all times. Students are expected to respect any equipment provided. Compensation will be sought from anyone (or from their parents/guardians) who deliberately or recklessly causes damage to equipment or property. NYWO reserves the right at all times and at its complete discretionto expel anyone who refuses to comply with the conditions as stipulated, or who behaves inappropriately or, in any way, causes damage or annoyance to others.
- Being offered a place on a NYWO course does not guarantee an offer in future years. New applications must be submitted and auditions attended each year.
