Mock Job Interview
As part of our senior career activities you will be required to engage in a mock job interview. A community member in your career field will conduct the interview in the near future. The following activities will prepare you for this valuable experience.
- Select a career from your list of saved careers and search for an actual job listing in that field using CareerCruising’s Employment Guide or external job bank websites such as the Job Center of Wisconsin:
- Once you find a job that meets your criteria try to find out as much as you can about the job and the company. Important information about the job could include, but not be limited to, the following: Job description, responsibilities, location, hours, pay range, location, benefits, education, degree, license required, experience, and start date. Print the job description and this other information.
- Find the company’s website if they have one, and try to learn as much about them as you can. This will help you ask intelligent and useful questions during the interview. You will also really impress the interviewer if you have done your homework!
- Read the documents in the link “Interview Resources”. Prepare yourself for the interview. Also, read the links under “Interview Skills” in the Employment section of Career Cruising.
