Outstanding Life Member Affinity Group Award
1. Vision:
IEEE Life Members are a global community of highly experienced professionals and very senior citizens who continue to serve engineers and the community at large with their expertise and experience, who could be engaged appropriately for the benefit of humanity.
2. Objective:
To recognize excellence in activity by Life Members Affinity Groups.
3. R10 Life Members Activity Goals:
1. Promote Professional & Personal interests of life members.
2. Facilitate and encourage LMs staying connected with and involved in IEEE activities at their Section level.
3. Enable Life Members to collaborate with other activity groups such as Student branches, WIEs, Young Professionals AGs, SIGHTs, Society Chapters etc at Section and higher levels.
4. Encourage formation of LMAGs in potential Sections and activate life members (LMs, LSMs and LFs) under them.
4. Eligibility:
1. Life Members affinity Groups under IEEE Region 10 of more than a year’s existence prior to the period of consideration are eligible to be considered, based on applications submitted, duly endorsed by the Section Chair.
2. An LM Affinity Group will not be eligible to receive the same award twice within a period of three years.
5. Basis of Selection:
Outstanding R10 Life Member Affinity Group selection will be based on:
1. Innovation, breadth, and type of activities.
2. Number of Affinity Group members engaged and IEEE members benefited.
3. Engagement with industry / government / community, and/or other groups within the IEEE Section.
4. Outreach, and generation of public awareness and recognition.
5. Potential to replicate in other LMAGs and other operational units of IEEE.
6. Community projects / services that project positive visibility of the IEEE.
6. Program Guidelines
1. A judging committee constituted by the R10 Life Members Committee, jointly with the R10 Awards and Recognition Committee, will decide on the most outstanding performer, based on activities during the previous year.
2. After selection of the recipient/s by the Judging Committee, the selection will be approved by the R10 Operation Committee, and formal announcement will be made only after this approval.
