Photographicimages-includingthosetakenbymobiletelephone.

TheRugbyFootballUnion(RFU)andtheRugbyFootballUnionforWomen (RFUW)recognisesthatpublicityandpicturesofyoungpeopleenjoyingrugby areessentialtopromotethesportandahealthylifestyle.Tofacilitatethisitis thereforeessentialthatthefollowingprinciplesandrulesshouldbeobserved. TheseBestPracticeGuidelineshavebeendevelopedbytheRFUwithadvice andguidanceontheuseofimagesofyoungpeople.Thewholepolicyis availableat

TauntonRFCandRFU/RFUWarecommittedtoprovidingasafeand enjoyableenvironmentforyoungpeople.Implicitinthisisthecommitmentto ensurethatallpublications,resourcesandmediarepresentparticipants appropriatelyandwithduerespect.Byadoptingthepointsoutlinedinthese guidelineswewillbeputtinginplacethebestpossiblepracticetoprotect youngpeoplewhereverphotographsorrecordedimagesaretakenandstored. Theimagesmaybepublishedontheclubwebsite.Ifatanytimeeitherthe parent/carerortheyoungpersonwishesthedatatoberemovedfromthe website,theClubSafeguardingOfficershouldbeinformed.

Thefollowingruleswhichwillensurecompliancewiththepolicyon photographicimagesareasfollows:

1.Ensureparents/guardian/youngpersonhavegrantedtheirconsentforthe takingandpublicationofphotographicimagesandhavesignedandreturned theParent/GuardianandYoungPersonPermissionForm.

2.Allyoungpeoplemustbeappropriatelydressedfortheactivitytakingplace.

3.Photographyorrecordingshouldfocusontheactivityratherthana particularyoungpersonandpersonaldetailswhichmightmakeayoung personvulnerable,suchastheirexactaddress,mustneverberevealed.

4.Whereanindividualhasachievedsuccessinthegame(e.g.whenselected for representativesideorshowingtriumphoveradversity)permissionmustbe gainedfromparent/guardianandyoungpersontousephotographs/recordings andrelevantdetails.

5.Wherepossible,toreflecttheRFU/RFUWEquityPolicy, photographs/recordingsshouldrepresentthediverserangeofyoungpeople participatinginrugby.

6.Anyonetakingphotographsorrecordingatanyrugbyeventmusthavea validreasonfordoingsoandseekthepermissionoftheorganisers/personsin charge.

7.Anyonetakingphotographsorrecordingshouldmakethemselvesknownto theeventorganisers/personsinchargeandbeabletoidentifythemselvesif requestedduringthecourseoftheevent.

8.Allconcernsregardinginappropriateorintrusivephotographyshouldbe reportedinconfidencetotheClubSafeguardingofficer

TauntonRFCrecognisestheneedtoensurethewelfareandsafetyofall youngpeopleinRugbyUnion.Aspartofourcommitmenttoensurethesafety ofyoungpeoplewewillnotpermitphotographs,videoorotherimages includingthosetakenviamobilephonesofyoungpeopletobetakenorused withouttheconsentoftheparents/carersandtheyoungperson.

WewillfollowtheRFU/RFUWguidancefortheuseofimagesofyoungpeople, Wewilltakeallstepstoensuretheseimagesareusedsolelyforthepurposes theyareintendedwhichisthepromotionandcelebrationoftheactivities associatedwithrugby.
