Exercise and Motivating Others

Name:

Exercising and playing sports with others can strengthen friendships and family relationships. It’s a great way to spend time together while being healthy. Your example of a healthy lifestyle can influence your friends and family in a positive way.

Directions:

·  Plan some exercise “dates” with your friends and/or family members.

·  Make suggestions about what types of activities you can do together, but be open to their ideas as well.

·  Spend at least thirty minutes exercising with each individual or as a group. You can count this time as part of your regular weekly fitness log.

·  Answer the questions below about your experiences.

Part A

1.  Name four people you will plan an exercise or sports activity with.

2.  What activities will you suggest with each one?

3.  Talk with each person and make specific plans for a day and time you will get together to exercise?

4.  Once the exercise is completed, answer the questions in Part B.

Part B

1.  What activities did you participate in?

2.  Explain three ways you cooperated with others.

3.  Did you ever need to apologize for any reason? Explain.

4.  How did you show respect for others when exercising/playing together?

5.  How did you show interest in those you were with?

6.  Did you motivate those you were with? Did they motivate you? Explain.

7.  Did you follow the rules? Explain.
