GENERAL INFORMATION

HERB SCHMIDT RELAYS –APRIL 22, 2016

1.Shot and Discus implements will be furnished.

2.Only pin spikes are permitted on urethane surfaces. Spikes will be checked in paddock. Any athlete found wearing anything other than a pin spike while competing will be disqualified from the event.

3.Coaches meeting in the infield at 3:30 p.m. Bring scratches of relay events.

4.Reminder to coaches and contestants, you must stay out of fenced or roped-off areas. No contestants are allowed in the infield area until their event is called.

5.Junior High Field Teams must consist of one boy and one girl.

6.Open Pit will be used for Long and Triple Jumps, Shot Put, Discus and Javelin; all Jumps/Throws must be completed within time allowed.

7.Re: Javelin - No throws will be allowed after the event is complete. Javelins will be stored in containers or secured on bus. No Javelins are to be brought into stadium.

8.Contestants must report to the field event areas 15 MINUTES BEFORE SCHEDULED STARTING TIME.

9.Senior Boys High Jump will start at 5'0" and the bar raised 2" at a time to 5'10", thereafter 1".

Junior High boys and girls, 4'0" raised 2" at a time to 4'10", thereafter 1".

Senior High girls, 4'2" raised 2" at a time to 5'0", thereafter 1".

10.Girls Pole Vault will start at 5’6" and the bar raised 6" at a time. Boys will start at 8’6” and the bar raised 6" at a time.

11.In High Jump/Pole Vault, both contestants must make starting height in order for the team or individual to continue in the event. If athlete fouls 3 times in all other field events, your team is out of the event.

12.Rest rooms are available along side of concession stand. All schools are requested to dress at home.

13.All relays will be run in lanes, staggered starts, first lap only. All other passes jostled for position. (EXCEPT) – 4x8, 4x1600, Distance Medley Relay races will start in 2 chutes and break at 1st turn).

14.Failure to be in paddock in time for the race will automatically scratch your team.

15.Please bring all complaints to meet referee

16.P.I.A.A. Track Rules shall govern this meet.
