Our charities currently include Capital FM’s ‘Help a Capital Child’, Classic FM’s ‘The Classic FM Foundation, Heart radio’s ‘Have a Heart’ and LBC’s ‘Help a London Child’. We raise funds in a variety of ways including on air appeals, fundraising parties, corporate partnerships, treks, runs and other challenge events. The Corporate Partnerships team punches above its weight and has a strong track-record of winning and managing high profile, six figure partnerships. As the Head of Corporate Fundraising you’ll be managing and growing Global Charities corporate partnerships.
What will you be doing
-Develop corporate fundraising strategy with a focus on developing high value committed partnerships and securing new ones for on-air and off-air activity.
-You’ll work with the Director of Fundraising to set challenging and yet achievable annual income targets.
-You’ll be leading on new business development for all Global Charities brands and be devising new business strategy that maximizes on Global Charities unique selling points and encompasses multiple corporate fundraising income streams including Charity of the Year, strategic partnerships, cause related marketing and sponsorships.
-You’ll be negotiating terms and expectations with new partners and overseeing production of strategies for each partnership with clear delivery mechanisms, responsibilities and targets.
-You’ll oversee account management of all existing corporate partners, delivering income targets and maximising in opportunities.
-You’ll work with the Global Radio commercial team on joint new business, inputting into client brainstorms, proposals and pitches when required.
-You’ll lead on best practice on legal strategies by keeping abreast of legal, regulatory, health and safety and VAT requirements.
-You’ll also be working with the Global Legal team to produce partnership contracts and/or agreements and ensuring corporate fundraising solicitation statements on-air, online, in print and at point of sale are compliant.
-You’ll have line management of 3 other members of the team and delegating work to all members of the team.
-You’ll undertake market and competitor analysis to keep abreast of trends, developments and opportunities.
-You’ll prepare monthly re-forecasts and activity reports for senior management and trustees.
What we expect of you
-You’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent.
-You’ll have a minimum of 3 years corporate fundraising experience and have experience of pro-active new business as well as account management.
-Line managing a team will be a vital part of your role, so you’ll need to have at least a year’s experience of managing a team.
-Being exceptionally creative, you’ll have the ability and desire to think ‘outside the box’ and use that creativity to research, conceive and develop ideas to support fundraising initiatives and to encourage and support client staff in their fundraising efforts.
-You’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills in formal, informal and public settings.
-Ideally, you’ll have a knowledge and understanding of legal principles relating to charity-commercial partnerships and have proven experience and skills in the negotiation of commercial contracts.
