The followingdocument will giveyouan overview of what toexpect duringtournament andwill providedetailsontherulestobe followedin tournament play.

Parking:

There isampleparkingaroundthe complex.Parkingis at eachindividual’sown risk.Pleasedonotleave valuables inyourcar.

Concessions:

Ourconcessionstandswill be open forall gameswithvarious typesof hotandcoldfoods, snacks,sports drinks,water,etc.Pleasesupport oursnackstandandrefrainfrombringingin outsidefoodanddrink.

NO SMOKING, ALCOHOL,PETS,ORGRILLS ALLOWEDAT CPCOMPLEX. Violatorswill be asked to leave premises.

  • Postgame: Teams should clear dugout areaofequipment andtrashas quicklyaspossible sonext gamecanbeginontime.Teampost-gamehuddles shouldtake placeoutsideof the playingfieldand dugout areas.
  • NO SWINGING OF BATS INDUGOUTor ON-DECKAREA.Allwarm-upswingsshouldbe takenin the

playingfieldimmediately priortoat-bat.

  • Tournament brackets,scoresandschedules willbe displayedneartheconcessionstand.

Batting Cages/Pre-gamepractice:

  • Battingcageswill bemadeavailableonan assignment basis.Managers will be provided their assignment time & location prior to their games.
  • Open fields arenot to be used for pre-gamewarm-ups as we are hosting multiple age groups during this tournament weekend.
  • Teams scheduled to play may take outfield warm-ups on their assigned field 30 minutes prior to their game if the field is not being used for a prior game. No infield warm-ups will be allowed.

GENERAL RULES OF PLAY

Age,Roster,Equipment and ScheduleRules andRequirements:

  • Playersmustbe 11yearsofage asofMay1, 2018.Playerswhoturned12beforeMay1,2018arenot eligible toparticipate.
  • Players rosteredonateammusthave beenafull-timeplayer inthe team’s rec league duringthe season.
  • Rosters, proof ofinsurance, andbirth certificates must be inspectedby tourney officials priortoa team’s first game.Once rostersare submitted at check-in, they will be lockedfor the duration of the tournament.
  • Inthe eventofinclementweather, gameswill berescheduledas time allows. Ifrainoutscannotbe rescheduled, refunds will beprovided asfollows.
  • Completerainout- $200refund
  • One game played-$150refund
  • Twogamesor more played–norefund
  • Tournament playmayextendintofollowingweeknights,if necessary, butwill notgo beyond 05/30/2018.
  • All 11Ugameswill be playedon50/70 fields.
  • Bats:Bat barrel will be based on USA Baseball rules, 2 5/8”.
  • Pre-gameRosters–Managers shouldprovide copies of pregame roster toboth opposingmanager andofficialscorekeeper atleast15mins priortogametime.
  • Home/Away – A game of Bocce Ball will determine homeand awayteam. Upon conclusion of ground rules, a representative from each team will select a batter’s box and while remaining in the batter’s box, toss/roll a baseball towards the pitcher’s mound. The ball closest to the pitcher’s plate will determine the Home Team. The home plate umpire will determine the winning attempt and award Home Team designation.
  • Dugouts will be first come / first served
  • Time Limit:Nonew inningwill beginafter2 hoursof play.Pool Play games can end in a tie. There is no time limit in the Championship round of play. In the case of inclement weather, after 3 2/3 innings of play the umpire & tournament director can declare the game official and end play.

  • Pitching:Pitchersmaypitchamaximum of6 inningsper dayor12innings forthe entire tournament.

1 pitchconstitutesan inningpitched.Upon a pitcher hitting the 3rdbatter inasingle game,he will beremoved fromthatgame in the position of pitcher – he may play any other defensive position. Oncea pitcher isremoved,that pitcher cannot re-enter topitchinsame game.Managersmusthand inscore sheet/pitchingsummarytoofficialscorerafter each game. Any violationof pitchingrules will result inaforfeit.

  • Fielders:9 fielders (3 outfielders)will be used
  • Batting Lineup/Fielding Subs:Teamsmustbat alleligible rosteredplayersandmaysubstitute freely inthe field. Ifa player cannot batdue toan in-game injury,theplayersspotcanbeskippedwithoutpenalty. Players that are unable to bat (due to injury) must be held out the next fielding inning. If a player cannot bat due toejectionorcoach’sdecisionaside fromin-game injury,oneoutwill be assessed in that players spot inthe battingorder.
  • Stealingof all basesisallowed.
  • All playis live untiltimeis called by the umpire.
  • Head first slides into a base are permitted
  • Runners must slideorattempt toavoidcontactwiththe fielder attemptingtomakeatag.Umpire judgmentwill be appliedtoall baserunningsliding/avoidcontactplays. Failure to slide on an active play will result in the runner being called out. Umpirejudgmentwill be applied toproperly enforce.
  • CourtesyRunners: Courtesy Runners are allowed forthe catcher with2outs. Courtesy runner mustbelast battedout.
  • Droppedthirdstrike is in effect.
  • Infield Fly Ruleis in effect.
  • Balks are in effect. Umpire will provide 1 warning per pitcher.

•MercyRule:10-runmercy ruleafter 4fullinnings of play(3 ½ if hometeamupby 10+)

  • Protests:Allprotestswill be decidedby a designatedtournamentofficial.Protests mustbe initiated immediately after play, ruling, or infractiontakesplace andgamewill be stoppedtoruleonprotest immediately,not after game. If the protest is not initiatedimmediately andplaycontinues,the manager forfeitshis/her right toprotest. Umpirejudgmentwill be applied toproperly enforce.
  • Run Limits: unlimited runs allowed per inning for all games
