2. / Declarations of Interest
There were no Declarations received.
3. / Notes of the previous Weston in Bloom Working Party Meeting held on 3rd April 2012.
3. Update from Hotels – Cllr Crew reported a meeting had taken place last week but no reply to date.
6. RW - Information incorrect, not the Baptist Church.
7. MLN – I have written to NSC as expressed by WiB. It is now for public consultation and can be found on the North Somerset Council Website. I advise all to look at it. The contract is to include horticulture, trees and street cleansing.
4. / Finance Report
The Financial report was distributed and discussed.
5. / Rows Garden
LR read email from North Somerset Council;

I am currently in negotiation with Wessex Water as a Statutory Undertakerregarding use an area of the Rose Garden for their compound. I am trying minimise the impact and make sure that we have a good agreement for reinstatement - I willlet Wessex know about the"Your Neighbourhood Award" and if you can let me have some details of the project you were planning withingarden I will make sure that they are aware that this has set youback.
I was intending to make sure that they moved the ornamental basket within the garden prior to setting up their compound.
Please come back to me if you have any comments on these proposals and I will keep you updated

The Working Party discussed and agreed the College students would require an alternative project to work on. It was agreed to offer them Ebdon Road and Sparky the Donkey. Richard Knowles to contact Pete Lane. / RK
6. / Tree Planting
The Working Party discussed options for planting trees to mark the Jubilee. RB would like to plant a tree at the Roundabout between Tesco and the Railway Station if the College Project does not go ahead.
The Working Party agreed to plant a tree at Ellenborough Park. JH to arrange planting. RB to check most suitable planting area. / JH/RB
7. / Judging Day – 5th of July 2012.
RK spoke of the amount of work undertaken by LR to reschedule all the bookings made for the 19th of July to 5th of July after judges changed the date. The working party showed their appreciation with a round of applause.
Cllr Willis offered her assistance on the day of judging along with Councillor Tucker.
Councillor Crew left the meeting.
8. / A.O.B
Chris Millard requested advice on flowers for Mayor Making. LR agreed to provide contacts and price lists after the meeting for the Flowering Arranging Society.
Annual Town Meeting – WiB Display Boards to be produced and delivered to the Blakehay by LR. RK and LR to attend.
Troughs of Flowers to be provided for stage.
Tubs – LR read out a quotation for vinyl stickers for the tubs. The Working Party agreed to put a large Vinyl Sticker of WiB Logo on one of the tubs of each set of three. The remaining tubs, RB would place green and yellow horizontal banding
Cynthia’s Diary – CF agreed to send BT diary for the portfolio.
BF reported on a meeting at the Bucket & Spade project with the Sponsor, LR, CW, RK & CF.
CF reported Sponsor for Bucket & Spade had also donated £350 vouchers for the Garden Competition.
CW reported Keith Southey had beeninstructed to prepare the bed for the Bucket & Spade. List of plants to be provided by Chris Hazzard.
BF requested manpower at Paddock Park on the 8th of May to help move baskets. / LR
