Keystone Chapter of AAHAM

Fall 2017

______

Keystone Chapter

Letter from the President- Bill Major

As we close the door on 2017, Keystone AAHAM will have a new slate of officers guiding us through the next two years. It has been a great honor being your President for the past two years and Vice President for the previous four years. As we see a wave of retirements amongst our AAHAM members, we need to look to the next generation of our AAHAM peers to take the reins. With so much change occurring at the local and national level, it will be an exciting and challenging time for the Keystone chapter.

This year at the ANI in Nashville, we placed third within our division for Chapter Excellence. That is quite an accomplishment and is a great indication of the strength and health of our chapter. I would like to thank Amanda Kimball for her tireless efforts in tracking and submitting all the data that is required for this award. Keystone also had great education meetings all year at several different locations in the Hershey area. Then in September once again we had another outstanding regional meeting and vendor fair with the Philadelphia chapter at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern.

I look forward to seeing everyone at our annual holiday meeting in December where we will introduce your new Keystone officers for 2018 and 2019.

Recertification Requirements:

CRCEs, CRCPs & CRIPs: Please be sure to keep your certification active so you won’t have to re-take your exam. Stay current with your CEUs…

CRCE CEUs

The current two-year reporting cycle began on January 1, 2016, and will run until December 31, 2017. At this point we are in the second half of the reporting period, so be sure to proactively earn CEUs so you can meet the requirements to maintain your certification. All current CRCEs will need a total of 40 CEUs with 20 of those 40 CEUs coming from AAHAM sponsored events. As of 2016, all new CRCEs will be on a two-year reporting cycle from their certification earned date, i.e. those certified in November 2016 will have a reporting period of 11/30/16– 11/30/18. Please remember, all CEUs need to be reported by using the online CEU reporting form at

Here is a chart for CRCEs, to show you how many CEUs you need to report:

AAHAM CRCE Recertification CEU Requirements
CEU Reporting Period 1/1/2016-12/31/2017
CRCE Certification Earned
Prior to Jan 1, 2016 / Number of CEUs required
40 CEUs (at least 20 must be from AAHAM Sponsored Events)
All CEUs must be reported to the national office by 1/31/2018
CEU Reporting Period
2 Year Reporting Cycle from Earned Date
CRCE Certification Earned
After to Jan 1, 2016 / Number of CEUs required
40 CEUs (at least 20 must be from AAHAM Sponsored Events)
All CEUs must be reported to the national office 2 years after the earned date. Example- Those certified in March 2016 will have a reporting period of 3/31/16 – 3/31/18

CRCP and CRIP CEUs

CRCP and CRIP members are required to earn 30 CEUs during their two-year certification period (15 of those must come from AAHAM sponsored events) and maintain national membership to keep their certification.

Verify your eligible education time has been submitted to the National office. Check your online activity to make certain you have received credit for all qualified education hours.

CRCS and CCT CEUs

CRCS examinees can maintain their certification with CEUs by joining as a national member of AAHAM; otherwise the exam will need to be taken every three years to maintain certification. Please note that your CEUs count starting the date you join as a national member, therefore, any CEUs earned before joining AAHAM as a member aren’t eligible. We encourage all recent CRCS and CCT certified individuals to join as soon as possible so you’ll have adequate time to earn your CEUs. The sooner you join, the sooner you can start accumulating CEUs! National members are required to earn 30 CEUs in the three-year period (15 of those must come from AAHAM-sponsored events) and maintain national membership. CCT examinees are required to earn 20 CEUsin the three-year period (10 of those must come from AAHAM-sponsored events) and maintain national membership. Verify your eligible education time has been submitted to the National office. Check your online activity to make certain you have received credit for all qualified education hours.

Reporting CEUs:

CEUs can be reported directly on the AAHAM website using the online CEU reporting form. Online reporting can be used for CEU activity except for Chapter Educational meetings. Those CEUs will continue being reported by the Chapter Certification Chairperson.
