In the following chart everyone is ranked based on their ranking from each year by using the following formula. The total years that an individual made a year-end list (Minimum score of 70 for men, 50 for women and 40 for youth) is divided by the sum of all their rankings from each year they are listed and then this number is multiplied by their total years. So if a person was ranked #1 and participated for only 1 year their resulting score could be “1” (if the score was 100, or .95 if score was 95 – see note below). Scores of “1” could also result for a person ranked #2 on each of only 2 listed years; or ranked #3 on each of only 3 listed years and so forth... A score of “1” is anexceptional achievement (The current tenth highest world ranking score is .800131).So here are the results of this “Year divided by Sum of Ranks timesYear times Average score (expressed as a percentage) = final score Chart”. Note: When calculating the sum of ranks, the rank of each year is calibrated to 100 so that each year is equally rated for example #53 of men, near the middle in the year 2010 is multiplied by .9345794 (100 divided by 107 people that made the list) = 49.5 and #7 of men near the middle in the year 1996 is multiplied by 7.1428571 (100 divided by 14 people that made the list) = 50. Another note to be made is that the final chart score is derived by multiplying by the competitor’s average score (expressed as a percentage) in order to make the accomplishments of all divisions (men, womenyouth) somewhat comparable whencombined. Also, equal scores are given equal ranks.
