Scoring Rubric
Outstanding Projects (A):
- Impeccable quality and professionalism; no errors in editing or performance; sound is clear and uniformly audible throughout the production
- Production makes excellent use of time and lasts a minimum of four minutes (excluding credits or other scenes that do not demonstrate an understanding of the literature)
- Organization of the content of the video is exceptional; the video is easy to follow and comprehend and emphasis has been placed on structuring the video in order to showcase an insightful understanding of the literary elements
- Production demonstrates a clear, insightful understanding of the core literature
- The group uses a plethora of props, costumes and other materials that demonstrate a great deal of effort, planning and vision
- After viewing the video, the audience has gained new insight and understanding regarding symbolist or naturalist theatre
Commendable Projects (B):
- Very good quality and professionalism; few, if any, errors in editing or performance; sound is usually clear and audible
- Production makes a good use of time and lasts a minimum of four minutes (excluding credits or other scenes that do not demonstrate an understanding of the literature)
- Organization of the content of the video is very good; the trailer is easy to follow and comprehend and emphasis has been placed on structuring the video in order to showcase an insightful understanding of the literary elements
- Production demonstrates a very good understanding of the core literature studied during the school year
- The group uses many props, costumes and other materials that demonstrate effort, planning and vision
- After viewing the video, the audience has gained a renewed understanding of symbolist or naturalist theatre and the themes, motifs and comparisons of character that bind them together
Acceptable Projects (C):
- Acceptable and sufficient quality and professionalism; few errors in editing or performance; sound is usually clear and audible during the production
- Production lasts a minimum of three minutes, but may be enhanced by content that does not necessarily focus on a demonstration of understanding regarding the literature
- Organization of the content of the video is satisfactory; the content of the video is understandable and emphasis has been placed on structuring the trailer in order to showcase the literature
- Production demonstrates an acceptable understanding of the core literature studied during the school year
- Some props, costumes and other materials have been included that demonstrate some amount of effort and planning
- After viewing the video, the audience has been reminded of some of the elements of symbolist or naturalist theatre
Unacceptable Projects (F):
- Quality is a serious problem and interferes with the ability to comprehend the production; numerous errors in editing or performance; sound is sometimes unclear
- Production may not three minutes
- Organization of the content of the video is confusing and interferes with the audience’s ability to comprehend the references to the literature
- Production demonstrates an unclear or erroneous understanding of the core literature studied during the school year
- Very few props, costumes and other materials have been included
- After viewing the video, the audience either lacks a full understanding of these works of literature or has been given an erroneous depiction of them
