II. Topics for Discussion
A. Report on FYE Conference: This was a great experience for the six of us who attended. We were able to share our program with other schools who were very inquisitive about our courses, peer mentors etc.
B. Update on Leadership Committee (see minutes which are attached)
C. Update on scheduled Y Sessions (Sarah Schoper): There was an equal access training on Tues. Oct 7th presented by Rachel Smith and Tara Buchannan. Additionally, for FYE Y faculty there will be two upcoming sessions (Nov. 4th @2:30pm and Nov. 5th @ 9:30am).
1. Need feedback for IVPI
2. Other sessions training ideas?
a. Ideas include: Tolerance, Classroom Etiquette, Classroom Management
D. Update on First Gen Student Group (Sarah Schoper): there were 20 students that attended the first meeting and they seem really interested in being engaged.
E. Update on New Grading Options (will have a CITR session this fall)
1. F/N and F/W are the new options
F. Update on Peer Mentor Training Sessions (Cody Schara)

H. Action: Connection ideas
1. Can we create and make some kind of manageable groups that we could have people cluster into>
2. Y would like to be able to talk to U and vice versa.
3. Perhaps Y and U could have some type of social outside of class?
I. Action: Discussion on Living Learning Communities
1. Ideas
a. The committee thought it would be nice to experiment with LLC and connect the Y and Univ. 100 course together.
b. Other universities have discipline specific LLC and some have FIGS (based on interest)
i. In these types of environments students have several shared courses.
ii. What is the connection between Y and U on our campus? This FYE LLC could be the connection.
