Syllabus

Daily rules:
- Be present and be active – help make the class more interesting by sharing your thoughts
- Work hard – spend class time wisely and seek excellence
- Ask questions – you are never the only one with a question so ask away
- Behave – respect fellow students and teachers to create a positive learning environment
- All school rules also apply.
Grading: Tests = 40% Quizzes = 20% Homework = 20% Participation = 10% Notebook = 10%
- Grades updated weekly online with parent/student access via the SSD website: https://scrhac1.scrsd.org/homeaccess Please call the school for your username and password.
- Students are responsible for completing all missed assignments in a timely fashion. Notes and homework can be found on the class webpage: http://wesths.scrsd.org Select the “About” Tab, choose “Staff Directory” and click on the link with my name. You can also find a link to download a PDF copy of our textbook here.
- Expect homework every night. Tests will normally be Wednesdays or Fridays.
- Appropriate time for making up tests will be given for students excused for extended periods.
- If more than 3 quizzes are taken, the lowest may be dropped. Missed quizzes will NOT be made up at a later date.
- Homework does not have to be correct to receive credit but all work must be shown. Completing homework in groups is encouraged, but do NOT just copy!
- Students lose classwork points for: unexcused absences, tardies, incomplete work, poor behavior, lack of preparedness, lack of participation, etc.
- Notebooks will be checked periodically and graded for content and organization.
