O R D E R
The Delhi Medical Council through its Executive Committee examined a complaint of Smt. Anandi Kashyap, R-45, Gurpreet Nagar, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi (referred hereinafter as the complainant), alleging medical negligence and professional misconduct on the part of Dr. Sandeep Bansal, Department of Cardiology, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi-110029, in the treatment of complainant’s husband Shri Joginder (referred hereinafter as the patient), resulting in his death on 15.6.2012.
The Order of the Executive Committee dated 7th February, 2013 is reproduced hereinbelow :-
“The Executive Committee of the Delhi Medical Council examined a complaint of Smt. Anandi Kashyap, R-45, Gurpreet Nagar, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi (referred hereinafter as the complainant), alleging medical negligence and professional misconduct on the part of Dr. Sandeep Bansal, Department of Cardiology, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi-110029, in the treatment of complainant’s husband Shri Joginder (referred hereinafter as the patient), resulting in his death on 15.6.2012.
The Executive Committee perused the complaint and documents submitted therewith.
The Executive Committee observes that the patient late Joginder Singh, sixty two years male, who was a patient of PTCA to LAD (11th February, 2009), experienced AWMI on 28th May, 2012 and was advised angiography by Dr. Sandeep Bansal on 8th June, 2012 to be done on 11th June, 2012, which was done on that day and revealed 100% block of osteal LAD and 99-100% block on LCX. The patient had ST↑ in V1-V4 with Q waves and

increased BNP with positive Trop T. The patient was advised to undergo pharmacological stress test to assess the viability of LAD and LCX territory to decide the mode of therapy. The patient subsequently died on 15th June, 2012.
In light of the above, it is the decision of the Executive Committee that prima-facie, no case of medical negligence and professional misconduct is made out, on the part of Dr. Sandeep Bansal, in the treatment of complainant’s husband Shri Joginder, as advising pharmacological stress test to assess the viability of LAD and LCX territory to decide the mode of therapy, is a standard practice in cases of such nature.
Complaint stands disposed.”
