  1. Understand system’s academic improvement goals
  2. Generate the Educator Report: Current Progress
  3. Describe the information in the report
  4. Share the ACT Aspire Readiness Level Ranges and that the Current Progress Report does not identify the ‘Exceeding’ category although a subject test may be exceeding

4:20-4:35 / 15 / Objective 2-Understand how to interpret the Skill Proficiency Report
  1. Generate the Educator Report: Skill Proficiency
  2. Describe the information in the report: students grouped by performance and readiness level, highest skills to lowest skills, orange box for skill, foundations vs grade level progress
  3. Discuss the Objectivity/Specificity Matrix
  4. Use the ‘I notice/I wonder’ Protocol to analyze the Current Progress reportand the Skill Proficiency Report.

4:35-4:50 / 15 / Objective 3-Identify the skills that were the most challenging to students on the summative test
  1. Identify the lowest performing strand
  2. Access the AoC Curriculum Benchmark Reports and identify the skills for the lowest performing strand in reading or math
  3. Access the AoC Curriculum Sequence Reports and identify when the skills are taught and assessed
  4. Access the ACT Aspire Performance Level Descriptors and effective ways to use this information along with how not to use this information (teach to the test)

4:50-5:05 / 15 / Objective 4-Describe how school’s will share results with parents/students
  1. Show how to access the ISR/one-page ISR
  2. Discuss the difference between the two reports, and share OCS’ preference (ISR)
  3. Discuss how to deliver the reports to parents/students: hardcopy or PowerSchool
  4. Schools are to identify a data to share the results with parents/students

5:05-5:15 / 10 / Review next steps:
  • Teachers at the school are to interpret the ACT Aspire results to inform their practice and to discuss the results with parents/students
  • Determine which report to share with parents/students: ISR or one-page ISR
  • Determine how the school will deliver the results to parents: hardcopy or PowerSchool
  • Determine the date when parents/students will receive the results
