Volunteer Opportunities with Save A Dog, Inc.
If you are looking for a unique and rewarding volunteer experience, Save A Dog, Inc. has a number of options. Volunteers looking to foster must be 21 years of age or older. Young adults, 15 years or older, may volunteer at our Adoption Days, held in the Wayland area on a weekend day for a two to three hour period, as well as help with fundraisers and other projects that help promote our mission.
The primary way we all stay connected is via email, but if you don’t have email, we would still love to have your help. All volunteers are linked to our group volunteer email list and communication between us is daily. Our monthly meetings bring everyone together to discuss goals and the individual dogs that are in our care. Foster parents and all volunteers never feel isolated, no matter how far away you are!
As we are in the process of securing a facility in which to quarantine and house our dogs, we can use all sorts of volunteer help. We need everything from people who can clean and feed the dogs, to people who can transport dogs to vet visits, to people who can help us fix up our new facility. Fostering our dogs is another way you can help us to determine the dog’s personality and also to provide a safe, comfortable environment for dogs who have recently had surgery. We also need help showing our dogs to prospective adopters, returning phone call inquiries, and counseling adopters who have post-adoption questions. We are looking for individuals to help with important public relations, as well as with fundraising. Volunteers are needed to do home checks on new fosters, as well as those adopting dogs. Drivers are needed to pick dogs up at shelters and/or take them to be spayed or neutered. Whatever your interest, your help is invaluable to our mission. We are looking for at least a 10 hour commitment per month.
Please fill out an application if you would like to help. A Save A Dog volunteer will contact you once the application is received.
If you would like to volunteer, please go to our Web site and fill out an application so that each person on our Volunteer Training Team receives it.
