MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
The Colborne Art Gallery is a thriving artist’s collective, welcoming applications for new membership throughout the year from both established and emerging visual artists. We suggest that you become familiar with the Gallery and our website before completing your application.
Gallery members have the opportunity to exhibit and to offer work for sale in six shows per year, have a webpage within the Gallery site and also benefit from Gallery publicity and exhibition promotion.
As a cooperative artist run gallery, there are opportunities for individual members to offer their expertise, take responsibility for all management aspects of exhibits, sales, publicity and promotion, community engagement, fundraising, accounting, documentation, design and space maintenance.
STAGE ONE - Submit these items by E-mail, see below
- cover letter including a statement of your interest and potential contributions as a CAG member
- ten images of your current and recent work
- link to your website (if applicable)
- typed artist’s statement
- curriculum vitae (C.V.)
STAGE TWO: Review of artist’s submittedmaterials by membership
STAGE THREE: Membership will consider your application and may arrange astudio visit to select works for viewing by members, following which applicant will then be notified of gallery’s decision.

The Colborne Art Gallery membership exhibition opportunities:
- Members work is exhibited in 6 exhibitions per year
- Solo Exhibitions on a rotating basis
Minimum Membership Participation/Responsibilities for Gallery Operation:
- work cooperatively as an individual memberand assume administrative duties as required
- assist with distribution of invitations
- attend exhibition openings
- attend monthly members meetings
- sit the gallery during exhibitions
Financial Obligations:
- membership dues of $30 a month (10 monthly payments a year)
- 15% sales commission to CAG
