December Scholarship Additions
Alpha Delta Kappa- Sorority has numerous scholarships available for current seniors (male or female) with strong academics, leadership and service. The local Beta Tau Chapter also sponsors scholarships. One application is all that is needed for both. Paper applications are available in the scholarship office. Deadline is February 1st –leave time for the application to be mailed/received.
The Arts Council of Moore County Barnes-Travis Scholarship is still available through March 6th for scholarships to pay for private lessons or camps. Pick up an application from Mrs. Caddell’s office.
The National Society of Colonial Dames in NC is offering the Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship for outstanding seniors with community involvement. An essay is required and this year’s prompt refers to views on modern day patriots vs. our founding fathers. Deadline is Feb. 5, 2015 and paper application is available in the Scholarship Office.
Are you a former Head Start student who will be graduating from high school in 2015? If so, you may qualify for the North Carolina Head Start Scholarship. Applications are available from Mrs. Caddell and are due by December 30th to the SRCAA Office.

Attention student athletes! We have several scholarships now available for outstanding student athletes who have excelled in and out of the classroom as well as in their community. Please see Mrs. Caddell if you are interested in the MaxPreps Citizen Athlete Scholarship or various scholarships offered by the NCHSAA. All deadlines are in March of 2015.

Seniors – Check out the 2015 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. This national program awards college scholarships to high school seniors who embody the characteristics of President Ronald Reagan at school, in the community, in the workplace and at home. They are specifically looking for students with: Leadership, Drive, Integrity, and Citizenship. Apply online at Deadline is January 8, 2015.
NCAE is sponsoring the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship for seniors who have exhibited character, community involvement and scholastic achievement. Deadline is February 2, 2015 and you may apply at
Marist College in New York is offering a special opportunity for students who choose to major in Computer Science or Information technology and Systems. These scholarships can cover full tuition, room and board. Applications are due by February 1st and can be found at
Western Carolina University has begun a new process for scholarship application and consideration. WCU applicants who are interested should go to and the deadline is February 1, 2015.
