- Install in accordance with manufacturers written instructions.
- Install in ducts and casings in accordance with SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards, Metal and Flexible.
(1)Support coil sections independent of piping on steel channel or double angle frames and secure to casings.
(2)Provide frames for maximum three coil sections.
(3)Arrange supports to avoid piercing drain pans.
(4)Provide airtight seal between coil and duct or casing.
(5)Refer to Section 15890.
- Protect coils to prevent damage to fins and flanges. Comb out bent fins.
- Install coils level. Install cleanable tube coils with 1:50 pitch.
- Make connections to coils with unions and flanges.
- Hydronic Coils:
(1)Hydronic Coils: Connect water supply to leaving air side of coil (counterflow arrangement).
(2)Provide shutoff valve on supply line and balancing valve with memory stop on return line.
(3)Locate water supply at bottom of supply header and return water connection at top.
(4)Provide manual air vents at high points complete with stop valve.
(5)Ensure water coils are drainable and provide drain connection at low points.
(6)Refer to Section 15515.
(7)For cooling coils where air velocity exceeds 500 ft/min. provide [three break] [six break] moisture eliminators of galvanized steel.
(8)Provide drain pan and drain connection for cooling coils. Fabricate drain pan from 20 gage galvanized steel. Extend 3 inches from face of coil entering air side 6 inches from face of coil leaving air side [,] [.] and 4 inches from face of eliminators. Pipe drain pans individually to floor drain[.] [with water seal trap.]
- Wire electric duct coils in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 70. .
- Refrigerant Coils: Provide sight glass in liquid line within 12 inches (300 mm) of coil. Refer to Section 15535.
