A Photo-Autobiography

In reading you have been learning about biographies, autobiographies, memoirs and personal narratives. For a reading grade they will need to complete a Photo-Autobiography. This will be scored based on the following score guide which needs to be turned in with the project. Projects must include a MINIMUM of 10 (ten) events in the student’s life (in order) and a MINIMUM of 5 (five) pictures or graphics for these events (1/2 of the events must be illustrated in some way). Pictures may be actual pictures of the student, postcards of the place/event referenced, maps, or hand drawn pictures or other appropriate graphics. The projects will be presented between December 3rd and 4th.

Students may (but do NOT have to!) choose to make printed (hand or computer generated & printed) autobiography or a PowerPoint. PLEASE NOTE: Mrs. Gipson can accept PowerPoint by attaching to her webpage. She will NOT print projects for ANY student. Students choosing to use PowerPoint as their medium must turn it in by the 30th so Mrs. Gipson has a chance to have it scanned for viruses.

If you choose to do a PowerPoint for your autobiography, please read how to submit those to Mrs. Gipson. She will NOT accept flash drives or CD’s. These must be uploaded to your correct reading core class on the webpage. (Don’t fret, it’s easy—I have already tried and succeeded!)

  1. Go to the Rich Pond web page (may be accessed through the Warren County Schools web page or at:
  2. Click on “Teacher Websites” under the “Quick Links” section.
  3. Click on Mrs. Gipson’s name and then your reading core class on the left side of my page.
  4. The Photo Autobiography assignment is listed (and I believe I have also uploaded this document!).
  5. Once you have completed your assignment, if it is a PowerPoint, you MUST upload it here. (Just click submit assignment and follow directions!)
  6. I strongly urge all students to upload these PRIOR TO the 30th so that no glitches occur. All projects are due on the 3rdregardless of presentation day. You must be responsible and work to complete the assignment on time!
  7. Computer, internet, and printer problems will not get you out of the late penalties as the project is NOT required to be completed that way. Simply put, you have other options so don’t wait until the last minute to find out you have no ink, no Internet, or computer problems!
