Finances/Treasury Report
Chris Corbett submitted a copy of the finance report for review. The account shows an income of $3480.00 for the 2012 calendar year. The account also shows an expense of $3012.57 for 2012, leaving a surplus of $467.00. Thus far in 2013, we have collected $1120.00 in party entrance fees and HOA dues. $582.00 has been spent on the directory, Internet domain, newsletter, and utilities. The current available balance as of February 2013 is $4567.96. A complete report is available through Chris Corbett.
Membership
Joni Havens reported that we had received twenty nine, 2013 membership dues thus far. This means that 29% of our homeowners have paid dues. This percentage number does not include rental units.
For the 2012-2013 calendar year, we received 68 paid HOA dues, representing 68% of residents.
We wish to have 70-75% of our residents pay dues; Joni will send an email to non-paid residents and a post card reminder in April to help rouse payments.
Included in the email and post-card reminder will be a list of benefits as well as news about our efforts to make us a “Firewise” community.
Social Committee
Jeff Corbett and Julie Branstrom sit on our newly formed Social Committee. It is their job to fulfill the following obligations:
- Identify hosts for events
- Be logistics coordinators for social events
- Collect money and receipts and turn them in to our treasurer
- Keep track of unused paper items and drinks that could be passed along to the next social event
- Assist the event hosts if needed
- Be the “go to” persons when questions are asked about social event specifics
Just a note: Email invitations to events can be created by hosts and emailed to , and they will be forwarded to our approved email list.
Fire Mitigation
Flint Cheney has been collecting information designed to move Valley Hi Homeowners toward becoming a “Firewise” community. The following items were discussed.
- Flint spoke with several key people in the area concerning becoming “Firewise”
- He collected a printout that included comprehensive information for residents. It was suggested that he email a copy of this printout to o that it could be passed along to residents.
- Flint’s next step will be to devise a long-term plan for our neighborhood. To obtain this goal, Flint will
- Contact a representative of the state forest service.
- Find out what percentage of people will need to participate in the efforts.
- File paperwork with the state.
- Find out what will be needed to prove that we are working toward our short-term and long-term goals.
Flint also commented that Conifer Community Church has a firewood program. Volunteers will pick up wood from properties and donate them as firewood to area families in need.
Flint also suggested we have a “Fire Wise” link on the website. Steve Szutenbach said that he would set that up. The link will inform residents of goals and happenings surrounding becoming “Fire Wise”.
A second board meeting will be held later this year after Flint has researched becoming “Fire Wise”. Flint will contact the board to let them know when he is ready.
Meeting adjourned at 9:05 P. M.
