BASIC PURPOSE:

Provide administrative HR support for the Rapid City.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE SPECIFICATIONS:

·  High school degree required and at least one year of HR related experience preferred.

·  Requires some knowledge of employment policies, practices, and HR compliance/legal requirements on the Federal and State levels.

·  Competent with the following software: MS Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel in a Windows environment.

·  Highly organized – Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize.

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels in the workplace.

·  High degree of initiative and capable of being managed with limited supervision – must be a self-starter.

·  Available to work overtime when needed.

·  Ability to handle extremely confidential and sensitive information.

·  Excellent attendance.

·  Ability to work in a team environment.

FUNCTIONAL SCOPE:

Responsible for assisting HR Director/Department with HR related functions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all.

·  Payroll processing for designated business and backup payroll support to the other HR Specialist.

·  Assist the Recruiter in conducting recruitment effort at the site for selection of top candidates, which includes creating and placing job ads, screening applications, telephone screening, panel interviewing, testing, offers of employment verification, background verifications, and drug screen testing. This will include preparing offer and rejection letters as well as other correspondences.

·  Maintain applicant flow logs and I-9’s, ensuring all necessary information is complete and compliant.

·  Assist with New Hire orientation.

·  Complete employment verifications.

·  Create/run statistical reports on new hires, promotions, terminations, etc.

·  Provide backup support for input terms/resignations/affirmative action information/salary planning and personal data changes into Access daily.

·  Maintain employee Database through HR Software package (Access).

·  Maintain all personal files – including active and inactive.

·  Serves as back-up to other HR team members.

·  Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all.

·  Assist and/or lead other projects and activities as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Environmental - Established office environment under normal lighting and climate controlled temperatures.
