TAFE STUDENT VIDEO COMPETITION

How it Works

  1. Shoot and Edit your video
  2. Video must be a minimum of 30 seconds but not exceed 3 minutes duration
  3. The video must answer the question “How has TAFE helped put your goals in ACTION?”
  4. Work must be your own (or your group’s) original material

If you’re having trouble finding copyright-free music, try using YouTube AudioSwap ( to select your soundtrack

  1. You can shoot on any format you like as long as you can upload it to YouTube. Whatever format is available to you is acceptable and entries will not be judged solely on production value
  2. There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit
  3. Short films can be entered, provided all competition criteria are met
  4. Animations can be entered, provided all competition criteria are met
  5. Documentaries can be entered, provided all competition criteria are met
  6. Rude, defamatory, racist and/or offensive material will be disqualified
  1. Get signed Release Forms
  2. Each person that can be seen and identified in your video must complete and sign a Release Form. You will find a copy of this form in your Information Pack. If you do not provide signed participant Release Forms for each person, your entry will be disqualified
  3. Submit your video
  4. Submit your video directly through your own account to YouTube and record the URL
  5. When submitting your video describe, in up to 100 words, how TAFE has helped put your goals in ACTION. Record this information in the Description section when uploading your video
  6. Submit all your Paperwork
  7. Once your video has been uploaded you must submit an Entry Form and the required Release Forms, correctly filled out and signed where indicated
  8. As the producer, you are responsible for sending all signed Entry and Release forms to the NSWTF Post Schools Unit via email to OR by fax to (02) 9217 2488 OR by post to 23-33 Mary St Surry Hills NSW 2010
  9. Receive confirmation of entry
  10. When your video has been approved, you will receive an email confirmation of entry. Confirmation emails will be sent within 5 working days of approval.
  11. Win!
  12. COMPETITION CLOSES AT 5PM ON FRIDAY 9 NOVEMBER 2012 – ALL VIDEOS AND PAPERWORK MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THIS DEADLINE
  13. For reasons of fairness, late entries will not be accepted
  14. The winner will be announced on Friday 23 November 2012 and will be notified by mail or email
  15. The winner and their work will be acknowledged in any associated promotional materials, wherever possible. The student who completes the entry form will be the primary student acknowledged and this should be the person who submits the video
